The cabin is beautiful and very comfortable. The lodge is well-maintained, offering scenic views, peaceful sounds, and incredibly nice people. My partner and I stayed here for five days following a trekking holiday to relax and reconnect, and it was exactly what we needed. The staff was not only caring but also attentive, genuinely listening to our feedback and making small changes daily to enhance our experience. We had an amazing time.

This is probably the best hotel we stayed in Ecuador. The place is stunning, surrounded by 1000 hectares of cloud forest yet you feel absolutely safe and comfortable inside. Everyone is kind and professional, food was exceptional (and I am Italian and not easy to please :)…), the rooms are spacious and comfortable, there is 24 hr room service and a in-house doctor, a library, a cute boutique shop and they offer a spa and hot tub to relax. Guides are well prepared and very kind! We had Jonathan and loved the activities together.

Such a fantastic taste of paradise. Everything at subtropica is done with love and skill. The breakfasts are superb, the pool is crystal clean and perfect temperature, the grounds are gorgeous with healthy beautiful plants growing everywhere. Everything! We loved everything about it! So elegant, private, well equipped, lovely design right in town but by the countryside. Ronnie was great as a host and we simply loved it. The owners have created a lovely space and great suites within it.

The location is fabulous, right in the cloud forest with so many birds to see directly from the room or when having breakfast or dinner (especially the beautiful hummingbirds). We took a bird watching tour with Esther which was wonderful, she’s extremely knowledgeable and took some great photos that she shared with us. Taxi to town is cheap and easy but you can also have dinner at the lodge which I highly recommend. Breakfast is also very good. Bed is super comfortable and we loved our terrace with hot tub. We also walked up to the terebita ride across the gorge and walked to the waterfalls, was a very rainy day but still an enjoyable morning.

Amazing place to sleep with the sound of the nature and wake up hearing and seeing birds. The owners are really nice. Everything is cleaned. The streets are safe and it is very close from the main place.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and served a really nice breakfast. The room, our own terrace, but also the hotel garden were all beautiful. The bathroom was very big and clean and had a nice jacuzzi. We will come back here for sure.
