All was perfect, especially the room temperature, because of the cold wether. Nice restaurant with an early mirning brekfast.

There was two choices for breakfast. 3,50 eur included tea or coffee and charcutleries. With 5,50 eur you could add fruit or egg to your breakfast. We had a nice two person room downstairs. The personnel was extreamly friendly, and made us pilgrims feel very welcomed and served us in a very personal and nice way. Really good memories. There is a restaurant nearby that the hotel recommended for us with a really good pilgrim dinner.

For me one of the most important things about an albergue is the host. On this occasion the host was facing a difficult personal situation beyond his control and yet this had no negative impact on the level of service or hospitality. I was so impressed with how welcome I was made at the end of a particularly long day. I was even asked if I was hungry and offered a meal at 5.30pm which I gratefully accepted! Our 4th stay here on our homeward trek up from southern Spain to Santander to catch the ferry home. Very friendly, clean, helpful, dog friendly gem of a hotel.

Hostal Santiago is set in Carrión de los Condes centre and offers easy access to the A-231 Highway leading to both Burgos and León. There is a garden with free barbecue facilities.

A beautiful monastery hotel on the outskirts of the town. I stayed as part of my Camino walk and it was a night of indulgence away from the usual Albergues. Booking.com had a good price deal. One thing to consider is the restaurant for dinner was fabulous and also not cheap. If you are on a Camino budget this may not be the place to stay.
