I recently stayed at Aria retreat and spa, and highly recommend it. Peter & Wietske's home has been meticulously renovated to preserve the architectural and artistic beauty of the past. It was an amazing place to stay. The thoughtful design of our room, which included a very lovely shower and vanity, which is modern but in keeping with the rest of the room. Our bed was very comfortable, I could have stayed in bed all day just watching the world pass by through the beautiful shuttered widows. Where the vista is of the other side of the valley and onto the mountains. Our private toilet was across from our room. This is a smart and functional feature of an older building as it maximises the space in a room. The breakfast is fantastic. We were spoilt for choice, and Pieter will whip up and omlete or eggs with bacon on request. Out in the garden in the afternoon with a drink from the bar was a great way to reflect on our day before a short walk up to the local tavern for dinner. The food and service were fantastic. Peter and Wietske are wonderful hosts and will ensure your stay at Villa il Maiale Bianco will be one you will want to repeat again. Because we definitely will.

The direct access to the lake is perfect - being able to swim in the beautiful lake whenever you please - in your own garden - is a dream come true! The scenery is breathtaking. Mattia was really very helpful and always on hand to answer queries or provide assistance. The apartment helpfully provides coffee and some toiletries and is well equipped meaning you can cook as you would at home. The apartment was very clean. The apartment is in a good location a minute from a bakery, bar and mini market and a restaurant with great food. The geographical location is great with Lugano Switzerland and Menaggio Como together with lots of other lakeside towns close by although a car was essential Free parking
