The host is great. She's friendly and very accomodating, and any issues we had were quickly resolved. The shower was hot, the bed was really comfortable, and our room had quite a bit of space by Japan standards. My partner and I visited in December, and it was too cold for us to go out too much, but the heating was great. The neighborhood is pretty quiet and felt very safe. The host provided us with bicycles to get around town, which was necessary given the lacking transit options. I eventually want to live in Japan for awhile, and staying in Yuki was a good experience for the "big city or small town?" question that so many people ask, especially foreigners interested in Japan. It was nice to get away from Tokyo and Osaka for awhile.
