My favorite stay in Japan across multiple trips and accommodations. Mrs. Tsuzuki and the staff were incredibly heartfelt and genuine, and I have never felt such genuine hospitality in my travels. The accommodation itself is very well furnished, a tasteful blend of traditional japanese and modern renovated convenience. There are no grocery stores or konbinis nearby save for a small self service cup noodle stand across the street, but Mrs. Tsuzuki kindly procured BBQ ingredients and drinks in advance for the whole two days! The inn makes a peaceful homebase if you want to explore Nikko by car, but I would absolutely recommend staying here just to explore the former copper mining city of Ashio where the inn is located. The city has a very interesting, rich industrial history, and is definitely very off the beaten path, if thats your thing. The locals were the friendliest I have encountered in Japan, I was floored by the kindness shown towards me by Mrs. Tsuzuki and everyone else! Note that I speak enough broken japanese to interact with the host and locals, which probably contributed to me having a great time, but I don’t think its a necessity to thoroughly enjoy a stay here.

It was really beautiful, comfortable and clean. The staff was unbelievable kind and helpful. Really lovely room. It is a bit far for the center but it is quite a lovely walk to do so we did not mind (and cabs where not expensive either).

Friendly staff, quiet location, all the amenities you may need. Neat system for the bath use. Enjoyed our 2 night stay and fresh pastries in the morning. Although they don’t serve food, there is a chance to purchase quick meals / ramen pots. There is also a Lawsons about 15-20 min walk away.

Perfect villa for family holiday ! Super clean , well maintained with a lot of attention to all details. In the middle of the forest , which is calm and nice (dont forget the stinky bugs as well :) ) The room has everything you need and even more :) The rooms are big and very spacious , in room private onsen and sauna are also available, which is great for calm relaxing evening ! Great place if you want to stay in a traditional house but with modern facilities. We had everything we needed on site. The room was big as it was composed of 2 rooms that could be separated with panels to have a sleeping room and living room. The location is close to the station, close to a supermarket, etc. The host was so kind, and so helpful. At arrival she gave us some maps, pointed interesting spots and even drove us to the station to show us the bus stop for Nikko Wonderland for the next morning. We were offered an amazing breakfast, and also little gift when we left. 本当ありがとうございます！
