This is a special place for anyone looking for a traditional stay in picturesque surroundings amongst Buddhist temples, nature trails and mountain views. The personnel went up and above to help us accommodate. Even though it was a bit chilly in December there was a heater in the room and the futon-bed was super-comfortable & warm. The vegetarian kaiseki dinner was served beautifully and well worth its price.

Clean, great quality food and matresses. Knowledgable hosts. Great control of allergy food.

Staying at the Habanobo Temple is not just a simple stay, but a meaningful experience. The place is comfortable, the rooms are large and clean, and the traditional meals are delicious. But what we appreciated even more was the chance to experience the everyday life of monks. The monk at Habanobo explained a lot of things to us about Buddhism, suggested what to visit nearby, and involved us in different activities, for free.

Great experience of Japanese onsen, delicious dinner and breakasft buffet, great outdoor onsen, traditional rooms, not crowded. Ice cresm for free, mochi making and happy hour with footbath included. Lots to enjoy!

The place, the view and the food were fantastic!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel – the atmosphere is warm, stylish, and relaxing. The staff were always friendly and attentive, making me feel very welcome. Excellent service and a great vibe make this place easy to recommend!

Very friendly host, traditional tatami room and delicious breakfast. The accommodation is very clean and spacious and has views of the mountain.

Due to an error in Google Maps' vehicle information, we found out there were no cars available to return to the hotel. We faced a 3-hour walk from Asama Shrine to Shiraito Park, mostly uphill with barely any streetlights. Just when we were on the verge of breaking down and feeling helpless, the host kindly drove to pick us up and brought us back to the hotel. Without her help, we would’ve had to walk the entire way 😭😭😭. On top of that, the hotel’s environment is fantastic—stepping out the door, you’re greeted by a lovely garden, and just a few steps away is the stunning Shiraito Waterfall. It’s absolutely worth the long journey!

I found this homestay looking for a nice place near Mount Fuji at a cheap price, where I could admire the mountain and go on excursions in the surrounding area. I found everything here:) Both the place and the family that runs it are very nice. When you arrive at the station the hostess can pick you up in her car for a very affordable price. It is a very simple guest house with no frills, but it offers everything that the traveler needs, at a very reasonable price. Keep in mind that they also offer one free meal a day, whether lunch or dinner. In this sense, it surprised me. pleasantly, because I told them that I was vegetarian and they made an effort to cook something different and delicious every day, I’m very grateful for that. The accommodation itself has a restaurant with exquisite and carefully prepared dishes. The majestic Fuji is right above, you can see it when you leave the accommodation and walk a few steps, you can take beautiful photos. 20 meters from the rooms there is a very beautiful small waterfall and a stream over which the path runs to Take the bus to visit the town of Fujinomiya, it is located about 15 minutes walk along a beautiful path that runs through a forest and areas of more rural Japan. The bus will leave you in Fujinomiya in about 20 minutes, there you will find the Mount Fuji World Heritage Center, a modern facility where you will learn everything about Mount Fuji. Right next door are some food stalls where they offer the famous Fujinomiya Yakisoba and two steps away is the Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine. There is another beautiful excursion to visit Shiraito Falls. there are much more things to do, for example visit some of the Onsen in the area, just ask to your hostess. The accommodation has only been on Booking.com for a very short time, previously they only hosted local people, so they will appreciate your advice to improve the service and its facilities. In short, a great base for visiting Fuji and its surroundings.

It was a beautiful environment, an authentic and real Japanese house, and what I liked most is the communication, helpfulness, kindness and the company of Itaru. He cooked an amazing dinner for us and it was the first time I didn’t feel like a tourist but like part of the daily life of locals there. It was perfect.
