If you stay a week or more a kitchen can be used. Every day around 18.00 hours you can see elephants quite nearby at one of the thee lakes. 2 or 3 or 6. Very exiting. They come to drink water. We decided to stay at this particular accommodation because we wanted to stay somewhere quieter than the hustle and bustle of Anuradhapura. In the end, this was a big surprise for us. The room, although relatively small, was very nice and spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom, which had hot water, which is not common in accommodation of this price in Sri Lanka. There is also a small refrigerator in the room. We enjoyed two delicious meals prepared for us by the very kind hosts at a very good price. Mihintale is beautiful and we visited some important places around there. The area around the accommodation was very beautiful and tidy and you could see many of its animals to play in the trees.

Janaka is THE host—truly exceptional in the hospitality scene in Sri Lanka. He is incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel completely at home, while also being highly professional and attentive to all our needs. He went out of his way to help us plan our days in Mihintale exactly as we wished—and what he managed to organize for us was no small feat! He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. We had an amazing stay at this holiday home in Anuradhapura. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and up to a high standard—much better than we expected for the price. The whole place felt relaxing and well maintained. The service was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Anuradhapura.

I had a great stay at Wamil guesthouse! The rooms were simple but clean. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The highlight was the incredible food prepared by the host’s wife—both dinner and breakfast were delicious and made with care. Booked 2 rooms for 2 night. We are with a Couple with baby and the grandparents. The pool is huge and the food that they serve is really good. The owner helped us really kind with arranging things and gave us nice tips. In the beginning it was a bit searching for the right location because it’s a bit far away. But it is a really nice legt away!

The place was amazing! The sceneries were great! The rooms were clean and tidy, they have managed the spaced well, even the parting was safe and spacious. The manager (Asitha) was the best, he was so helpful during our stay and he is also an excellent cook! Will definitely revisit.
