We really enjoyed chatting with our interesting hosts who treated us and our children with the warmest of hospitality. Ganesh gave us some really excellent local recommendations which did not disappointment. The location, room, breakfast and garden are all just fantastic. If you want to fully enjoy the atmosphere of Bakhatapur Shiva guesthouse it is one of the most suitable places. Directly on Durbar square, the windows overlook the temples which are so close it seems like you can touch them. The square is alive both day and night so it should be noted that sleep could be disturbed by dogs and morning processions (not if they are held every day or only during the period of the Hindu festivals where we were), we personally we found it very suggestive. The guesthouse is clean, the room spacious and the wifi fast. There is a good restaurant on the ground floor and the staff are very helpful

The entire stay was amazing from the initial helpful communication, delicious vegetarian food for every meal, twice daily yoga classes including breathing practices and also daily hikes to new places every day. All the family were so welcoming and kind. We even were able to join in with a neighbour’s wedding celebrations! The room is cleaned to the highest standard. As there was space, I was given my own room which was thoughtful. Beds very comfy. Would highly recommend.
