The property was built in 2021 and has air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony. There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service. Absolutely brilliant! The service from everyone from the time we arrived was exceptional, so friendly and welcoming, and assisted and advised with anything. The facilities are great, nice clean swimming pools, the grounds are very nice and the rooms were great-large, immaculate and good facilities, and great to see the sustainability such as refillable stainless steel drink bottles instead of plastic. The restaurant was very good, and reasonably priced. The activities arranged were good, the lake safari seeing elephants and many birds. And using the kayaks on the lake from the jetty right out front was great (we didn’t try the fishing, but that was another option). And of course just the peace and quiet location to relax in luxury. The children’s favourite was Ronnie, the very friendly dog.

The highlight of our stay was the incredible food and drinks. The iced tea was the best we’ve ever tasted, and the pizza was absolutely divine! Every bite and sip transported us to a place of pure bliss. Whisky Point Resort truly feels like a little paradise nestled within an already paradise-like island. The serene ambiance, combined with the warmth and hospitality of the staff, makes this a must-visit destination. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience. We’ll be back for sure!

Our whole stay at Blue Water was perfect, the cabanas are cute, clean and spacious for couples. We couldn’t fault anything. We stayed for my 40th birthday and the team decorated our room, what a lovely surprise on entry. Although there is no air conditioning, the fans in the room are sufficient and the cabanas are designed well with openings for a breeze. Rinos is amazing, he was so attentive and looked after all of our needs. He’s really friendly, a pleasure to meet and an excellent chef. Sudha and Dinosan are both phenomenal, they make sure the whole area around the cabanas are pristine, they take so much pride and leave patterns in the sand for guests. There is a good variety of food, the fresh juices are so tasty. We had breakfast and dinner most days and Rinos catered for our tastes. The beach is private and only a few steps away, most days we were the only ones there, it is paradise. At night we fell asleep to the sound of the waves. Thank you Blue Water you made our stay unforgettable.

Iqbal and his staff were so warm and welcoming! They went above and beyond making sure I felt comfortable and enjoyed my stay! I was welcomed with delicious pineapple juice and a pastry. I ended extending my stay because it was such a warm and cozy place to spend a few days at the beach. Beach access is a few meters away. Iqbal also arranged surf lessons to peanut farm and I couldn’t recommend them enough! Best surf coach I’ve ever had! The room was very clean and spacious with hangers for wet clothes and storage. The hammocks outside each room are a very nice touch and relaxing. Each morning, the breakfast was very good and tasty! Lots of fresh fruit! Whatever you need, Iqbal and his team will take care of. Had a lot of nice chats with Iqbal. He will be missed! Wish I could stay for longer. Will definitely be back to this cozy piece of paradise.

The staff and the owners were extremely helpful, always going the extra mile to make sure my stay was as enjoyable as possible. The location is great, close enough for a short walk to the surf spot but far enough that you don't get caught up in the loud nightlife. The room was big, clean and modern and the bed was super comfortable. I wish I could have stayed longer. Highly recommended and I'll be coming back for sure!

Charitha Rest provides an open-air bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Ampara. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. There is a picnic area and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. Charitha organized two boat safari for me at very very short notice. Both were absolutely fantastic (apart from a fellow tourist who would not stop talking, unaware of needing to be quiet when viewing animals and the etiquette of how to behave on a Safari). The boat safari is breathtaking. I saw an elephant crossing from one island to another and a few small herds. Very magical! The guest house is in a very small village surrounded by jungle. Extremely peaceful and a fabulous place to stay the night. Charitha's family is adorable and so friendly and he will go out of his way to help you in any way he can. He organized a car to take me to Arugem Bay and even accompanied me. I did look at other options of where to stay but this was extremely close to the Boat Safari, only a 10 minute ride which he also organized and I'm thrilled that I picked this guest house. Incredible value for money and a highlight of my trip !
