Comfortable, clean, modern rooms, a wonderful river to dip into, the most delicious dinner and a truly beautiful setting. The staff were also exceptional! Can not fault a thing.

This was our second visit to Mailagama Cinnamon Residence and we were truly happy to see again the owners of the hotel, Indira and her husband. The hotel is located in a picturesque place among green rice fields. We loved walking around the area - there are large lakes nearby, and there are few people around, but an incredible number of peacocks. A real kingdom of peacocks. The room was clean and spacious, with a balcony with a great view. There was also a big shared terrace to work online or to do yoga. The fans helped to cope with the heat, which was important for us. We really liked the Srilankan food at the hotel - delicious and served with great elegance. Manager Inbaraj was always attentive and helped us with any questions. On his advice, we visited two temples - Rock Temple where you can see dozens of funny monkeys and Kataragama Maha Devalaya. Both places are interesting and atmospheric, especially the latter, which is famous for its festivals throughout the country. We hope to come back here next year to see the beauty of the nature and to feel the special friendly atmosphere.

Amazing place to stay and also amazing safari! We did the full day safari and it was a great experience! We saw so many amazing animals. We cannot recommend this place enough. The family is so kind and the service is excellent. The room is also very clean and comfortable with high quality Aircon.

To Wadula Safari - Yala είναι σε Kataragama, σε Monaragala District και σε κοντινή απόσταση από το σημείο ενδιαφέροντος Ναός Kataragama. Η τοποθεσία αν και είναι δύσκολα προσβάσιμη (βέβαια έρχεται ο ιδιοκτήτης με το safari jeep για την παραλαβή την μέρα του check-in και την επιστροφή κατά το checkout ) βρίσκεται σε εκπληκτικό-μοναδικό σημείο. Το φαγητό αν και είναι vegan (εννοείται ότι μας είχαν ενημερώσει νωρίτερα) είναι πολύ νόστιμο και χορταστικό, το προτείνω. Το προσωπικό είναι πολύ βοηθητικό και φιλικό. Κάνουν τα πάντα για να έχεις μια τέλεια και ευχάριστη διαμονή.

This property was in a beautiful setting! You feel very close to nature, with lots of trees, plants, birds. It is right on a lake. The owner, Anne, the manager, Amal, and each and every staff member were incredibly kind and professional. Our every need was met. We had full board, and the food exceeded our expectations! We were so full! There were lots of choices, but we had Sri Lankan food, it was just delicious! We had Tranquil book us two safaris, and we loved them! We didn’t see leopards, but another group did the same day we went out. We saw plenty of wildlife. A bonus was the fresh, clean pool for a morning or afternoon swim, with chairs to relax in the sun or shade. Thank you, Tranquil, for your hospitality. We’ll be back! We recommend this place and the park nearby, over the busier places.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely, the place was friendly and we had a great time. Great communication between Sam’s place and us before we travelled ensuring all our needs were met when we arrived. They were very helpful and provided us with information and recommendations for things to do in the area. I would recommend and we will be booking again soon. Thank you Sam!

Unforgettable Stay at Farm Villa Resort! Amazing location with easy access to Yala National Park. The surroundings are absolutely stunning — full of natural beauty and peaceful vibes. We stayed two nights at Farm Villa Resort and had an unforgettable experience. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a large balcony and even a private pool! We loved how much space and privacy we had, and the view of the paddy fields was breathtaking. You can even take a walk through the fields — a truly unique experience. The staff were exceptional — friendly, attentive, and made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. One of the best parts of our stay was the full-day safari to Yala Block 5, arranged by the resort. It started early at 5 a.m. with a private guide who helped us spot rare animals and birds. The resort took care of everything — from a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast to a memorable jungle lunch. Everything was perfectly organized for a comfortable and exciting experience. The resort is also great for bird watching and wildlife lovers — even monkeys came to visit us near the villa! The food was another highlight — both breakfast and dinner were full of authentic Sri Lankan flavor. The large swimming pool was clean and perfect for relaxing after a long day. We highly recommend Farm Villa Resort to anyone visiting Kataragama or Yala. This was one of the best stays we’ve had in Sri Lanka — and we will definitely be back!

This was the best hospitality we received in Sri Lanka. It is a lovely family business, located in nature and very close to the famous Budurugawala rock carvings. Shalika and his family are perfect hosts. The cabin is great and the environment is very peaceful. The beds were really comfortable and super clean. The food they served is amazing and they the ingredients are harvested by the hosts. It was an amazing experience. They also provide transportation service. Highly recommended!
