The location is THE BEST you could ever imagine. Right at the edge of a national park with view onto a lake you see lots of macaques and langurs, birds, mongooses and with a bit of luck elephants roaming around, sometimes they come very close and are just 2 few meters away. No worries there is security fence as you know it from national park areas inbetween. The cabins, very exclusively as there are only 2 available, are perfectly equipped, spotless clean, airtight - so no bugs will bother you as long as you exercise common sense to keep doors closed and come with very good working air-conditioning. You have a nice cozy seating area/porch attached to watch the animals while you are enjoying meals or ice-cold drinks. Bringing your binoculars to view animals further away is recommended. Sanka is THE BEST host you could ever imagine, very warm welcoming and always smiling, and very attentive. He is always available, happy to serve you his delicious food and ice-cold drinks to your room, everything for very reasonable prices. He helps to arrange safaris for you, provides amazing advise on sightseeing, loves to exchange experiences with his guests. He is such a lovely person, himself still very excited about the wildlife, it was hard to leave this place. Ensure to reserve ahead as this place has only 2 cabins and is of course very popular. We booked two of the three rooms and had the best stay here. Uppila the owner/host picked us up from the bus stop and he made our stay really enjoyable. Making connections with his family was a highlight. His wife cooked delicious Sri Lankan meals for us both breakfast and dinner, and catered to my friend's coconut allergy. We nearly didn't book this place because it was so cheap and we thought it might be substandard, however I can say it was just delightful, large basic room with mosquito net (no mossies in my room), a large big verandah looking out onto the garden. Uppila took us on a free guided night walk around his property to look for wildlife. Uppila booked our Ayurvedic massages, drove us there and waited. He organised a tuk tuk to the ruins. He was always up for a chat and we felt cared for. He was just so kind and friendly and open and honest. I feel privileged to have met him and his family. Stay here, you will love it!

Owner of the place, he helped with a hack with the sockets (little secret), and give honest opinion about safari (that it's not worth it at that time of the year). Pool is unexpectedly good, we were alone on it, but it was clean, lights were romantic, all the place it just perfect. Also the dinner and the breakfast was very tasty. I am rarely this satisfied with place. Keep it up!
