Dar Chaka is a peaceful oasis in the heart of Tozeur. As you step into the courtyard you feel you’ve come home, especially with co-owners Ines and Zied there to welcome you. Spotlessly clean, spacious and fully equipped with two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen, the guest house has everything you will need. The shady patio behind the house has comfortable seating and lovely plantings. Every detail has been carefully planned. The hosts, especially Ines, are extremely helpful and hospitable; they even went to Carrefour to buy beer for me! The location is excellent. The Medina is not far and there are several good restaurants, cafes and shops all within a couple of minutes walk.

Amazing place in Tozeur, hidden gem of this town. The owner is friendly and helpful. Breakfast under the palms is tasty. The room was clean and comfy. Cozy and quiet place in the walking distance to town center. One night in such place is not enough. Highly recommended staying at least for two nights.

The architecture is fantastic, the position is perfect at the entrance of the old Medina. The staff is very kind and breakfast good. It’s great to come back after a day of excursions and sunbathe and relax in the two swimming pools. Great atmosphere. The shower was amazing and the room really clean and comfortable.

If you ever find yourself wanting to visit the utterly charming desert town of Tozeur (which you absolutely should), there is only one place you should spend your time. At the Dar Amina you will find everything you could possibly want. Clean, nicely furnished rooms, a pool in summer and a house that even the locals say is the most beautiful in the entire medina. But all that is nothing compared to the wonderful owner. She is one of the most delightful and amazing people you will ever meet. Come and visit Tozeur and the Dar Amina!

The house is new, large, safe and very clean. Courtyard for parking and laundry. Friendly local families in the neighborhood. It was the only accommodation during our trip where the kitchen was sufficiently stocked with enough plates, cutlery, pots etc to make a decent meal . The owner Anouer is so kind and hospitable, with easy contact and quick response. We were greeted with delicious local dates. He gave us a generous box of delicious local delicacies during our stay. He even took us shopping at the souk and the bank for currency exchange but refused to take any payment for his efforts. Truly a genuine host who met our every need - thank you Anouer for making our stay special!

We loved the spaciousness of Villa Mariem. The sunlit dining room, with glass walls facing east and west, was especially bright, and opening the many shuttered windows and courtyard doors in the afternoons filled the villa with warm, fresh December air. The furnishings throughout are comfortable and inviting, making it a pleasant place to return to after days out. Some of my favourite comforts included: the clean, comfortable leather couches; the firm mattress with a generous choice of blankets—pillowy comforters, wool, and cotton; the granite kitchen counters and well-stocked cupboards with dishes, cookware, a kettle, and a teapot; the consistently hot water in both the shower and the kitchen sink; and the large white cotton bath towels! We also appreciated the electric heater, which took the edge off the cool mornings and evenings. We enjoyed the location, too, so walkable to the best cafes and restaurants. Most of all, our host, Zied, exceeded our expectations. He was exceptionally accommodating, helpful, and available throughout our stay—warm, personable, and deeply knowledgeable about the area. His care and attention made our time in Tozeur so enjoyable! We highly recommend booking one of his spaces.
