At the hotel, rooms come with a balcony with a mountain view. An absolutely beautiful location, very peaceful. The staff were incredible and couldn't do enough for us to make our stay enjoyable. From 'Rasta Man' who drove the boat and got us to be where we needed to be, even in the early hours or late at night without complaint, to the chef who made us lovely meals, again to our schedule, the lovely ladies who served our food and cleaned our rooms, the maintainence guy on hand for any tiny hitch, to the boss man Edward, who kept in touch with us all week to assist us in any way he and his team could. Can't recommend highly enough

The first highlight is the ride to the boat pier and the boat ride to the island through Lake Bunyonyi. The welcome by the staff is warm and honest. The property is fully self-sustaining, so if you're not a fan of outdoor latrines, be prepared ;) Hot showers are available but need about an hour preparation time. The staff really goes out of their way to accommodate all your wishes and make you feel right at home. I recommend staying in their geo domes as it is an experience you will never forget. The menu at their "canteen" is a dream for vegetarians. Just the perfect place to relax and switch off for a few days. They organize tours to other islands as well, which I didn't try as I just wanted to relax for a few days before heading to the hustling streets of Kampala. They also organized a gorilla track for me in Bwindi at very short notice, which they made into the perfect day and memorable experience. Thanks again for everything 🙏

We are two young women and we stayed at the Ruhija Gorilla Guest house for one night and then tracked with the gorillas the next day but we would have stayed longer! Our room was fantastic, spacious, clean and with two big comfortable beds. The dinner they cooked for us was great and Cylia is careful to fulfil your every wish. Before dinner we visited the village (an experience not to be missed) we met the local people and visited the school and the orphanage; all the people are extremely kind.
