Rockwater Resort is an absolute diamond find! The attention to detail in everything from the guest interactions, the room, the food and the resort itself. I spent three days in this gorgeous place, not only doing the Tanna Island top sights (Mt Yasur volcano, Blue Cave, traditional village tour and the Giant Banyan tree), but simply spending time around the resort by the pool with a book or snorkelling off the front cliffs. Silvana and John are absolutely beautiful hosts with their care and attention for the experience of your own and other guests with the island and Vanuatu as a whole.

Veronika is an excellent cook. The price for transportation to the volcano is 3000 watts less than in the surrounding resorts. Veronika's husband took us to a local village with a Kava tasting and indigenous dancers. I highly recommend.

Complimentary Airport Transfers. Please advise the Resort of your flight details in advance. The staff were exceptional. All - from senior management downwards. The drivers were particularly good and impressed us with their skills on difficult roads.

Very basic accomodation but decent. No mosquito nets, so bring your own with you. The family serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with what their land produces, so bring your own groceries if you have specific needs. No restaurants, farmacies or ATMs around. This is a great place if one would like to live along the Tanna village people for a few days. Very friendly family!

The hospitality of Philip, Susan and their sons was absolutely incredible. They were so gracious with their time without being over bearing on your privacy. This is the spot to stay when checking out the volcano side of Tanna. You will have everything you need to see the vanuatu culture from the perfect location. For reasonable rates, the hosts will take care of any other logistic you need. -Set up the 2 hour car ride to and from the airport. -Local recipe dinners by Susan and she’s a great cook. I believe they offered lunch as well but I was going on these great adventures they offer to guide you through: -A local village that will show you dances and rituals of their indigenous culture -A hot spring heated river that flows into the ocean overlooking the volcano -And of course, the hike to the rim of the volcano. I had so much time to chat with the family and they are all so kind. I don’t leave reviews, I was very compelled on this one. Stay in this treehouse. Friendly reminder to grab cash and break it down in Port Vila or at the market in Tanna.
