We had a really great stay here!! Tharanga was the loveliest host and they couldn’t do more for us. He has amazing English so communication was super easy. The pool is massive with a shallow kids section too, rooms are clean and comfortable. The food was insane, we had a few different curries and string hoppers for breakfast! They were very accommodating and let us order for specific times with vegetarian options It’s currently off season so it’s quiet, and they really kindly let us check out a couple hours later than the initial time. The whole complex is beautiful and they even had a ‘beer pub’ with a wide variety of drinks. Food and drinks were very reasonably priced and overall the stay was great value A little bit far from the town but this didn’t bother us as we just wanted to chill. Great service from the owner and it was a nice extra to see that there is a new Pool now! Breakfast and Dinner was amazing! Thanks to the cook!;) They helped us with the taxi and we could use the Bikes to go to the Beach and watch the Sunset! Amazing place to relax! Still a small biulding site around but its not that bad.

The property was hidden in the jungle, which felt like the perfect escape and very picturesque. The eco lodge that we stayed in was perfect, as it had everything we needed and the outdoor shower was an incredible feature. The restaurant’s quality of food and service was exceptional. We got to try many Sri Lankan curries and I particularly loved taking part in the cooking class to learn more and the authentic flavours and traditional ways of cooking. I would definitely recommend it here!

I came with the family, the owner did everything to make us feel comfortable and good, however not pushy. We loved our house, kids didn’t want to leave. No wonder, food was simply amazing, they adopted all to kids as they don’t eat spicy. Another plus is the organic vegetable garden. Everyone was so friendly. As staff had time they played cricket with my kids and on one occasion really quickly arranged doctors visit. I can not recommend them enough!

Sri and his team went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The service and kindness were truly exceptional. Worth noting: On our second night, we were offered a complimentary upgrade to the honeymoon room—an all-glass, secluded space perched on a sand dune with an ocean view. Waking up there was truly magical. Sri is also an Ayurvedic master. He gave me an unforgettable full-body treatment, and the next morning, we had a yoga session by the pool. In both activities, he not only demonstrated deep expertise but also explained the underlying principles of Ayurveda in a way that was easy to grasp. I highly recommend trying these. At 5 a.m., they had arranged a fishing trip with local fishermen. Although it was too windy to go out to sea, they adapted the plan and taught us stationary fishing on the beach instead. The fishermen eventually caught some small crabs, which the chef prepared for breakfast—such a unique experience. We really appreciated the opportunity to plant a tree with our name in their garden at the end of our stay. The pool overlooking the ocean was also a highlight. If you're looking for an authentic, thoughtfully curated experience by the ocean—one that also aligns with sustainable, long-term goals—this is the place to go. I recently stayed at Kalpitiya Chalets by Thilanka, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived. The chalets are beautifully designed. My room was spacious, clean, and overlooking the lagoon. The bed was comfortable. The service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always going out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Special thanks to Ms. Romina, Ms. Imesha and Ms.Pramodya and Tharusha for their warm hospitality – they made me feel right at home. I really enjoyed the food. Especially the fresh seafood dishes. For activities, I highly recommend kayaking on the lagoon and dolphin watching. Overall, Kalpitiya Chalets by Thilanka exceeded my expectations. All the best and can be highly recommended.
