The tent was very comfortable and clean, staff attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. But the best thing was the safaris. Well planned with extremely knowledgeable guides. Especially Mark is a walking encyclopedia of local history, geography and fauna and passed on his enthusiasm for the local wildlife. Thoroughly recommended.

Yala Jungle Haven, as its name imply, is quite a haven in the jungle. It is quite literally next to Yala National Park. So, the jungle hut is rustic, and my room have seen visitations from many frogs and geckos. You will hear many bird calls early in the morning, which is wonderful if you are into birding. But the best part is the owner Thushara, who is also a safari driver+guide. So if you book this accom, go with their safari! He is very experienced as evident in his driving and wildlife spotting skills. We had THREE (3) sightings of leopards and even a sloth bear! While wildlife sightings need the element of luck, one of the sighting of the leopard was initially spotted by him, so yes our vehicle was the first on the encounter. The sloth bear too. Needless to say, I had one of the best safari experience ever. Oh, their homecooked dinner is authentic curry & rice cooked by Thushara's parents :)

Lovely family run buisness! Super friendly/ helpful host and amazing food! The whole place is alive with birds, absolutely recommended. It's situated very close to yala national park and jeep tours can be arranged. Go and stay there, if you are not afraid of the odd frog in the bathroom or gecko at the wall. Also two v cute dogs!

Where do I begin... What an experience! We were picked up exactly at the time they said by the great jeep that already put us in the safari mood. We were expexting a nice tent but were blown away by the size of the tent and how comfortable it was. The dinner was nice as was the lunch the next day, but we didn´t come for food. THE BEST things were the night walk (scary!!!!) and the safari tour the next day and we had a great guide, Jelo, who made it extra fun and informative. Great sense of humor and an all round great guy! We saw the leopard! And monkeys, water buffalos, crocodiles, the list is long. The scenery took our breath away. Everything ran like clock work, very professional and friendly.

A well deserved 10/10. The Den at Yala is a beautiful property with lots of character. The rooms were so clean and spacious. The location is superb close to national park entrance especially if early morning start. Surrounded by nature so you feel when you arrive relaxed. The meals were delicious. Gabrielle and Sanjana the couple who own and run the property were super friendly organised a safari for us. They made our family trip to Sri Lanka very special. Huge thank you from the Hogan family.
