This is one of these unique places you never forget while traveling! Why? First of all the host. Stef has created a place full of positive energy. He has thought about so many details (good lighting, little basket to put your phone next to your bed, flowers, fresh fruit etc). He is flexible, friendly and a good communicator. The salon boat is in an excellent condition. Sleeping in a boat is different then staying in a bed room. The very soft moving of the boat on the water is calming. Like the sun shining in your face when you wake up and open the curtains. The bed is superb. Very comfortable. A good shower and toilet in the small bathroom! In the boat you are able to sit (and read/relax) on two places but also outside (on the land) there is a little terrace with a sofa. Cooking is easy in the little kitchen with many tools/species. The area is peaceful. In the morning you are greeted by people kayaking on the water. A big super market is very close by (fresh croissants and orange juice for breakfast) and the center of the wonderful city Groningen just 10 minutes walking away. We loved staying at 'The Wending'!!!

Van der Valk Hotel Groningen-Hoogkerk is located in Eelderwolde, directly next to the A7 highway. Groningen is 4 km from the hotel and guests can enjoy the restaurant.

Groningen is not only a lively student city but also a beautiful city to visit.

Everything is very beautiful, clean, wonderful staff, wonderful large room, good design, good jacuzzi.

At walking distance from the city centre, the NH Groningen Hotel offers comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi. The well-kept rooms have air conditioning, a work desk and a private bathroom.

This is the best hotel I have stayed at so far. From a friendly greeting at reception, good sized well appointed room and comfortable, great bathroom. The location was within walking distance to city centre. As mobility impaired I did not go out at night, the attached restaurant was perfect as was the breakfast. And service very attentive.

The arrangement might look a bit odd at first - its reception is in a small restaurant/bar - but it's actually very nice. The staff are very friendly. My room didn't have paper towel, and I don't know if it's regular or just me, but since I brought my own I didn't particularly care about that. Plus, there was a friendly and curious cat meowing outside the room in the afternoon, which made my day. (Attached its photo)

The sunshine suite exceeded my expectations! Very clean, very luxurious, and the room is exactly as shown. The staff are highly professional. I requested the party package and it stayed as a surprise as they ensure not to mention it at check in.
