The place is split in two locations, so there are two bars, two pools even two restaurants. we chilled one day at the first and the second at the other. At both places we were met with friendly people and super service! I recommend doing the activities they provide in the hostal and just enjoy being there!

Offering a terrace and views of the garden, Masaya Casas Viejas is set 30 minutes away from Minca in the Magdalena Region by 4x4 or motorcycle, and 12 mi from Santa Marta. Beautiful place! Food was very good. The staff were wonderful. The hike to the waterfall was super challenging and fun. The guide was amazing! Loved everything about the place.

El Santuario was the perfect home base for exploring Minca! Nora and José Luis have obviously put a lot of love into their hotel- they were exceptionally kind and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. We split three rooms between 5 friends, which was totally comfortable for us. We started every morning taking in the stunning views while enjoying a delicious home cooked breakfast- the birdwatching is unparalleled to any place I’ve visited before! It’s a quick 10 minute drive to the center of Minca- we had a car, but the hotel will happily arrange a mototaxi for you, which I took advantage of as i chose to stay an extra night after my travel mates departed. We ended our evenings using the ample common areas to sip tequila and reflect on our adventures. The evenings were cool enough that we wouldn’t have used a/c even if it was available. Of course there are some bugs, but what else would you expect staying in a rustic town in the middle of the jungle?? Other reviewers noting this as a con are obviously unused to accommodations that strive to be as ecologically mindful as possible to their natural environments. The most amazing place. I love the location and the beautiful landscape, the gardens, the pool. The rooms are big and lovely bathroom. But above all the staff!!! Out of this world hospitality and consideration. They took such excellent care of us. The family is so proud of this place and want to share everything. You will not regret staying here.
