The staff took such good care of us from the moment we arrived, Suji, Jay and Sana especially, but everyone was so kind and helpful. They have a small van to easily drive you into town or to activities and to pick you up whenever you’re finished. Sana recommended several local activities and took us to beautiful photo spots. The hotel room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the view of Lion Rock our bed was magical. There is a restaurant on site and the pool was refreshing after hiking up Lion Rock on a hot day. Seriously one of the best places we’ve ever stayed! 10/10

The property is non-smoking and is set 5.8 km from Pidurangala Rock. Location and accommodation was dreamy. A cabana in the jungle and a swimming pool in addition. Wonderful and nice owner who is very helpful. Dinner and breakfast was another highlight. I can only recommend staying there - it is on top only a 15 minute walk to Sigiriya rock.

Hostel's owner, workers and friends (and little LILY) are just the most amazing and friendly people, they take you to all the best spots on their tuk tuk and have lot of suggestions, the best people to hang out with. It's a simple place, they clean everyday and make you great breakfast. Be careful because it's almost impossible to stay just one night, I had to extend my stay twice. I will miss this place!

During our two and a half week trip through Sri Lanka, the Lion Gate Hotel was the best accommodation we stayed in. Bernard gave us a very warm welcome and provided us with a wonderful stay in an oasis of well-being. During our trip, the search for small, authentic and nice accommodation was unfortunately somewhat difficult. The Lion Gate Hotel ultimately met all our expectations and not only did we have a great starting point for our activities around Sigiriya but also a place where we really enjoyed going to simply relax. The rooms are very nice, the facilities are new and modern. The service should be emphasized. Any type of requests were fulfilled immediately. I can highly recommend staying at Lion Gate Hotel.

Everything was just perfect from the arrival till the departure. The room is nice, super clean. You are living with the family and from the beginning you feel very welcomed...The place is very quiet and there is a beautiful view from the terase. And the breakfast? Super delicious and made with love :) Everything is homemade, fresh...ahhh I miss it so much :) The whole family is sooo helpful, friendly and nice. I hope I will be back soon :)

Good accomodation for children - enough space for running around and our little one could watch different animals. We would stay here again.

We requested to check in before almost 6 hours. Without being irritated Mahinda dada welcomed us at midnight (3:30am)!! He did not even charged extra money for early check–in. The breakfast & dinner we got at night was beyond expectation. Foods were delicious and representing the authentic Sri Lankan taste. The environment was lovely & the location was very close from Lion rock. We are greateful to Mahinda dada and his family for the amazing hospitality... ❤️

The location of the accommodation is a few minutes walk from the center, but makes up for it with the idyllic & lovingly furnished garden and above all the beautiful view of the Lions Rock + rice fields. Very good restaurants are close by. The hostess, who really takes great care of her guests, is supported by her son Danu and his wife. We really had a great time with Danu, who takes care of all the leisure activities, be it tuktuk rides, full-day excursions to the temples, archaeological sites, or a safari in an open jeep. He was always courteous, super motivated to show us his country in the best and nicest way. He knows his way around the country and even drove us to Kandy in his tuktuk. We can also highly recommend the breakfast! We would definitely come back!
