We had a truly wonderful stay at Kimulimuli Green Heaven. The Mawimbi bungalow is very clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed with great attention to detail. The outdoor bathroom is absolutely magical, immersed in nature. We slept peacefully every night, lulled by the sound of the waves from the beach just below. The welcome from Antonia and Hamisi was exceptional : warm, attentive, and always available. And a special mention to Warda, who prepares breakfast: she is an amazing cook, always smiling and full of good energy. We highly recommend this place and would love to return asap :)

Wonderful private beach and a beautifully peaceful location, though it is quite isolated from everything else (which can be both a good and a bad thing). The place is fairly new, so a few details are still finding their final form.

Basecamp is a beautiful place to stay on Mafia Island! The property is so stunning with views of the ocean and access to the beach. Our stay was very comfortable with lovely beds and bedding, our room was very clean and recently updated. The staff were all extremely welcoming and tended to our every need. We were greeted with a coconut to drink out of upon arrival as well as some local fruits. The breakfast was great with freshly made eggs however you like. The lunches and dinners were also really tasty. There is a bar at the pool, beach and restaurant which was convenient. The pool has a nice view of the ocean as well. The shuttle service from the airport was timely and convenient. We saw whale sharks snorkeling! We had our laundry done and folded, which was great. Our room was upgraded free of charge as there was availability, which was such a nice surprise as it has never happened to us before. Overall an amazing stay at a beautiful hidden gem, book it!!

A 6,1 km da Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve, Coconut Mafia Island Bungalows propone sistemazioni con un giardino, una terrazza e una cucina in comune, che fa sempre comodo. Io e mio marito abbiamo soggiornato qui per 3 giorni. Lo staff è stato sempre molto gentile e disponibile. La struttura è nuova e le camere accoglienti e pulite. Buona la colazione. Non essendo vicino alla spiaggia offrono le bici per poterla raggiungere ( servizio molto apprezzato). Il posto è in mezzo al villaggio e permette di vivere i suoni del luogo dai bush baby la sera ai galli e mucche al mattino!

Dotato di biciclette gratuite e di un giardino, il Meremeta Lodge si trova a Utende, a meno di 15 minuti di bicicletta da Mafia Island Diving. Il WiFi è gratuito. Meremeta Lodge is a very beautiful place in the Western side of Utende. Wonderful rooms and a spectacular lobby/restaurant. The owner is almost always present and super friendly and supportive, as is the rest of the staff. Our room had an AC which was a blessing. Breakfast was self-service but super tasty. Generally, the food was really nice and varied. Well spiced. And super tasty desserts! It is possible to borrow bicycles to get around, which is super helpful as this place is not located directly at the beach. However, you get there really quickly by bike, and the upside to the location is that it is rather quiet.

Meraviglioso clima di accoglienza familiare. Ambiente semplice ma tranquillo, atmosfera rilassata. Favolose le volpi volanti, stanziali nelle mangrovie vicine...davvero speciali!

Bcause it was my first time to come to Mafia Island, I was able to contact Mr.Ally (The owner of Mgeni Homestay) in advance and he was very kind to guide me all way from understanding how to travel from Dar-es-salaam to Mafia to buying the Ferry/Ship ticket until arrival at Mgeni Homestay. Upon arrival I was warmly received, registered my stay, paid and went to the cozy and beautifully clean room. I really enjoyed the delicious, numcious African breakfast that was served to me at Mgeni, ......in general I really had precious memories at Mgeni. I will surely return back to Mgeni when I go to Mafia.
