Staff were very friendly and willing to help in anyway. It felt like staying with family. They took the time to recommend what to do in the area, the 3 main attractions in the area are amazing and the reason for coming to this location. This will be one of the most special parts of our trip to Japan.

We like the relaxing location in a quiet town. We enjoy the variety of food served at dinner. One night we got to try to make sushi rolls. Another night our daughter helped make udon noodles from scratch that we ate in soup. The staff was always helpful with any questions we had and they conducted a couple interesting Japanese cultural sessions.

Excellent location for a chilled out couple of days in a temple village. Easy to visit using the Japan rail pass and get a taxi from Minobu station. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Amazing food for breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed the cultural performance on our first evening, the opportunity to wear kimonos and the onsen.

An absolutely lovely stay with friendly people, amazing food and a great garden. Not only that, the surrounding area is stunning and staff do their absolute best to give you recommendations. We also got a surprise mini "matsuri" (Japanse festival) experience, which was a ton of fun and made our stay all the more special. And as someone with tattoos it was great that we could use the public bath without any trouble. A lot of places in Japan still refuse those with tattoos, but it wasn't a problem here. Very thankful for this!

Very authentic place surrounded with beautiful nature and shrines. It is really special location - you can hear monks chanting in the morning and evening. Staff was welcoming and made sure that our stay was smooth.

This was a truly wonderful and authentic experience. We really felt we were almost back in time. The location is magical in a 550 year old Buddhist temple. Yukata are available to wear and you can also try on kimono. A magnificent dinner and breakfast was also a highlight. The beds were so comfy and the hot bath sent us off to sleep. If you want to try something really authentic, add this place to your Japan itinerary!
