Staying with Kota and his family was absolutely wonderful! They have a lovely house, everything is clean and comfortable, but more than than that, is the pleasure of staying in a real home in a beautiful place. A very peaceful stay here. Large rooms and the onsen is very relaxing! The breakfast is very good too! There's even a large sunflower field just at the parking lot area of the hotel. But not sure if the sunflower field be there next year.

The absolute loveliest stay I’ve had in Japan. What a delight the hosts are - Glenda is an absolute gem and the loveliest. She used to tour around Japan as a singer! If you’re lucky enough, you can get her to sing a bit for you. Her husband is an incredibly talented chef and cooked us a huge and wonderful dinner - probably the best food I’ve had in Japan. Strong recommend!

The location of Kazura near a large pond, Sakuragaike, with views of the mountain range just beyond, provided a relaxing start to each morning. The ground floor lounges are spacious and invite you to relax. It’s where you meet people and end up chatting or playing cards etc.

Perfect location to explore the Suganuma, Aikonura and Gokayama. The bus from Johanna station stops 20 meter from the house, same stop to go to the villages, so you dont need a car to visit this place. Very beautifully renovated house with old elements and modern comfort. Super friendly owner. Nice tofushop, Japanese bakery and small supermarket closeby. Also very Nice to scroll around the house. Been 4 times to Japan and would absolutely recommend to stay here!

Beautiful scenic location. Warmth and cosy feel of home away from home. Very relaxing pace and a good place to wind down, recharge, and enjoy nature. Host gave good recommendations of eateries, places of interests and onsen. Besides the Guest House Takazuri-Kita, be prepared to use cash for all.payment. Having a car is definitely a good idea to enjoy the beautiful sightseeing.

The house was pristine, everything was clean and in good conditions. The showers and bathrooms were also impecable. The staff was friendly, and very clear with the indications. The location is five minutes by car to Ainokura traditional village, and close to restaurants and shops, very easy to reach from the road. I would definitely stay here again!

Very convenient location to stay in the Gokayama area. The ryokan staff are friendly and welcoming. Dinner and breakfast are highly recommended to choose when making reservations. The food served is local and very tasty.

Everything is perfect! - nothing to complaint about the location, it's located in the rural gassho-zukuri village - hostess is super friendly to share information about the village - I can choose my dinner and breakfast time as I'm the only guest at that night. I enjoy the entire house. - traditional and delicious meal (I love the tofu) - cozy and clean - tourist information in the common area

Location is stunning. Kota san and his wife were very helpful and helped collect us from the bus stop. Good recommendation on a nearby restaurant which we really enjoyed. Good value for money.

Dinner & breakfast were included with our Japanese-style room and both were excellent. The couple who run the ryokan were friendly & helpful. Great location to be able to access the Gassho villages of Ainokura and Suganuma without a car - the local bus stop is directly outside the ryokan. It is also opposite the oldest Gassho house (300 years); it is open to the public and you can climb up to the 5th floor.

This is a great place to stay with a family, we felt really at home and there is so much space in the bedrooms and the communal kitchen area feels like home, super cosy and everything you need to cook a meal (small supermarket 5 minute walk away). It's really well fitted out and the host is very kind. Five minute drive to the thatched house village (walkable in 20 minutes).

though location is not so convenient, the view of this small village is very nice... especially with a bit of snow around the village. This place also very quiet, which is something different for us compare to Kyoto and Osaka.

wonderful tradition Japanese inn. the staff were very hospitable & the onsen was very relaxing. fantastic location in between the three Gassho-zukuri villages. inn is located directly at a bus stop. the dinner and breakfast food was particularly incredible
