The stay felt like living in a castle — the decor was quite luxurious, the room was very spacious, and it offered great value for money.

Just 2 minutes' walk from Sullivan's Cove and Salamanca Place, this restored mansion in Hobart offers modern accommodation with flat-screen cable TV and panoramic views of the harbour, mountain, city or park. Free off-street parking is available for guests. Staff was amazed and helpful, location was great, nice and quiet. We will be back for sure!

Each of the unique cabins at Cradle Mountain Highlanders has cosy interiors, including a fireplace. All cabins are lined with beautiful Tasmanian timber and most cabins have full kitchen facilities. Some units have a luxurious spa bath and mountain views. It was a special and peaceful retreat in a cabin surrounded by the forest. Both the reception area and the cabins were beautifully designed. The fireplace inside the cabin kept us very warm—so much so that at night, we even left the window slightly open while the fire was still going. It was conveniently close to the Visitor Centre and Devils @ Cradle. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed, but I’d recommend bringing enough ingredients if you plan to cook your own meals.

You can unwind over high tea at The Atrium Bar or reserve a table at the contemporary Restaurant Tasman which overlooks the harbour. Fantastic dining room. Food excellent and staff went out of their way to deal with our late arrival from a three day hike. Kitchen stayed open and chef was outstanding.

Very easy walk down to town and parking right outside.
