What really made our stay exceptional is the staff. They are very welcoming and kind. They make you feel like home and help you have a traditional japanese experience. This place holds a place in our hearts because of how the staff treated us. They offered us fresh made tea when we arrived with snacks and explained to us the japanese breakfast. Seriously very attentive and generous. I highly recommend staying here. We stayed for one night but I think two nights is better to enjoy the hotel and beautiful Takayama.

The location wasn't so good, we drove every day to Takayama (~40 min) since there is not much to do in this area.

Sitting in the hot tube was amazing especially while it was raining outside. It is not an Onsen, just a hot tube (as advertised). Fantastic experience.
