The breakfast was absolutely amazing, excellent choices, yoghurt, cooked, several kinds of bread. Excellent breakfast service, too. The room was lovely, very quiet, great bathroom, very clean. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner was delicious on several nights. I have no idea where some of the bad reviews are coming from. This hotel is top class.

This is a great family run place, right in the middle of the old town of Gengenbach. With all amenities you could need. Sauna, outdoor pool, outdoor breakfast/lunch/diner. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Gengenbach is a small town I'd seriously recommend visiting and it's a great place to stay for a few days.

Breakfast was superb. Great variety, nicely presented and friendly staff that couldn't have been more helpful. The fruit was fresh and replaced frequently, hot food was fresh and other clients made sure to recover the food after serving. The room was spacious, clean and had everything we required (other than an iron, which would have been handy). A great variety of alcohol available at the bar, with a cosy environment to enjoy the space. The spa was a big win, clean, multiple different environments to relax in and well maintained. I would highly recommend this hotel, and will without a doubt be back.

Hotel Calamus greeted us with a clean neat room. One of rare hotels where the bathroom is so spacious that you don’t think about where to put your clothes that it remains dry. It’s one of the hotels where you feel comfort in details: incredible interior of the restaurant, huge choice in a breakfast buffet (incl Prosecco, fresh fruits and berries), complimentary bottles of water at check out. Everything breathes with freshness like the hotel just opened its doors a few days ago. Great experience!

I have stayed in more than 20 different hotels already this year and this was far and away the best. A combination of modern and traditional, beautiful pool and spa areas, spotlessly clean, great food, really friendly and helpful staff. Really can not fault this hotel and can not wait to go back
