Housed in a building dating from 18th century, this villa is 600 metres from the Riyadha Mosque. The accommodation provides luggage storage space, private check-in and check-out and organising tours for guests. We stayed at Ttunu House in January 2025, and it was simply incredible! The house is beautiful, lovingly restored, and tastefully furnished. There is truly not a single thing to complain about! The Ttunu House team—Cornelius, Stephen, and Jackson—did everything to make our stay perfect and unforgettable. Stephen cooks whatever guests desire, with only the cost of groceries charged, while the service itself is included. Upon request, we had the best tuna steaks of our lives, served with grilled vegetables and Kachumbari (a Kenyan tomato salad). For those looking for an extraordinary vacation far from tourist hotspots but without sacrificing luxury, Ttunu House is the perfect choice! We would love to come back.

Among the facilities at this property are a housekeeping service and bicycle parking, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Staff on-site can arrange airport transfers. The house is wonderful, spacious, luxury and quiet. Bassam is a great host and the staff are excellent too. We had a great time exploring from here or just enjoying doing nothing much at all. It is a bit outside Shela, but not that far and a nice village walk.

Authentic Swahili style villa Milele House features a balcony and is situated in Lamu, within just 300 metres of Gallery Baraka and 400 metres of Lamu Museum. Guests can benefit from a terrace and a year-round outdoor pool. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and Lamu Fort is 200 metres away. The house was majestic. Upon entrance it was like stepping into an oasis from the narrow, but cozy streets of Lamu Town. The architecture was stunning and its aesthetics and functionality impressive. As the house is glass and roof free the natural ventilation was a constant fresh and cool breeze in 30 degrees celsius weather. The house help Jamuhuri had the kindest soul. Everything felt safe and it always felt like coming home because he was there. The house was always clean and Jamuhuri was always ready to help with anything we needed. Asante sana!

He went over and above to help organize activities across the duration of our stay. And the cuisine was wonderful.

Kijani is a charming little hotel in Shela, well located to discover the village on foot, and the nearby islands by boat. It has everything one needs for a perfect holiday; provides a quiet and peaceful backdrop. We loved the flexibility of management (even with last minute issues), return boat transfers included in the price, amazing breakfast and restaurant. Fantastic staff (management, reception, cleaning team, restaurant, kitchen, guards, in short: EVERYONE): kind, attentive, all while being respectful of privacy. We have stayed elsewhere in Lamu and Kijani truly stands out. Thank you.

The property features garden and sea views, a barbecue, and free WiFi is available. The location was amazing. The staff were welcoming and friendly. They accommodated our needs and helped us with ways to get around the town. The environment was healing and very warm. Absolutely enjoyed it.

Jannat House is a stylish historic house located in the heart of the old town, with amazing atmosphere, very friendly staff including Caroline who helps with the most important issues, very tasty breakfast. Featuring an outdoor swimming pool and views of garden, Baytulkher is a recently renovated bed and breakfast set in Lamu, 100 metres from 18th Century Swahili House Museum. There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay. The bed and breakfast offers sea views, a sun terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available. My family and I so had a fantastic time at Baytulkher. The food was yummy, the house is beautiful and spacious, the swimming was perfect for young kids and the sunset view from the roof was delightful. The location is relatively quiet for Lamu town, not far from the port and the fan really helped us to sleep well. Malik was so kind, helpful and accommodating. He helped us with transport, drinks, mosquitos nets for the sofa bed and much more. I would highly recommend here. For the price you pay, you really do get a lot. We are very grateful to have found here. They have listened to the comments made in previous reviews, as issue like hot water have definitely been resolved and we received cleaning each day.
