It was a slightly odd feeling as we were the only guests (well - another couple turned up very late that night) but the room was amazing with very high quality finishes and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Did I mention how good the food was?! It had to be ordered in advance but was very good value

La struttura è moderna, elegante e curata in ogni dettaglio, ma al tempo stesso immersa in una location meravigliosa, circondata dalle piantagioni di tè di Hatton. Lo staff si è dimostrato incredibilmente cordiale, professionale e sempre pronto a venire incontro a ogni nostra esigenza: in particolare ci hanno offerto una cena deliziosa e ci hanno supportato con consigli preziosi per organizzare al meglio le nostre giornate. È stato possibile anche fare splendide passeggiate tra le piantagioni di tè grazie agli itinerari personalizzati e alle mappe che l’hotel ci ha fornito. La struttura offre davvero tutto quello che si può desiderare: una splendida piscina esterna riscaldata con vista, una palestra ben attrezzata, tavolo da biliardo, due bar, la spa e un ristorante eccellente sia a cena che a colazione. Consigliatissimo per chi cerca un mix perfetto tra lusso, natura e ospitalità impeccabile. Senza dubbio uno degli hotel più belli che abbiamo trovato durante il nostro viaggio in Sri Lanka.

The building is over 130 years old but excellently maintained. As a boutique hotel it only accommodates up to 11 guests at a time, making it a very homely experience, which we loved. The staff were absolutely excellent, going out of their way to make our stay comfortable. No request was too much, or too little. And we absolutely loved engaging with them. Situated near Nuwara Eliya it boasts some amazing views which we thoroughly enjoyed as we sat down for some tea (and it was some of the best tea we’ve had) or breakfast. As a small boutique hotel, food choices can be somewhat limited but their a’ la carte menu items, in our view, would meet most tastes. The food we ate was excellent quality with pastry items (bread, croissants, cakes etc.) made on the premises. These also were excellent.

I liked many things about Nuga Retreat. First of all, the beautiful, natural surroundings with mountain views created a unique atmosphere of peace and relaxation. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped, providing convenience, and the outdoor pool was a great place to unwind. I also really appreciated the friendly and helpful staff who truly made an effort to ensure our stay was enjoyable.

The views were great, the staff was extremely cooperative and made sure to go the extra mile like arranging a poolside BBQ for us. The rooms were aesthetically pleasing and cleaned well. Breakfast, tea time snacks, and dinner was delicious and presented beautifully each time. The food was not very expensive either; it was good value for money.
