Riverside Guest Lodge offers panoramic views of Grobbelaars River and Swartberg Mountains. It offers air-conditioned rooms and wooden cottages. This property is superb in all regards. The hosts, Elza and Albert, are gracious, welcoming, and ever so helpful. We just returned from almost 3 weeks in South Africa, staying in a number of guest houses. Riverside was our most enjoyable stay. We regretted not having booked a longer stay at this wonderful establishment. The attention to detail in all matters of the accommodation are quite remarkable, really. This is a must stay when in the Outdshoorn/George area. The breakfast room and fare were very upscale without feeling stuffy. Food was delicious!

Breakfast and especially dinner are outstanding, what a brilliant chef ! All staff members are very friendly. And last but not least: They have the nicest little cat we have ever met :-) We would love to return.

The restaurant attached also did not open until the afternoon which was not handy. The food there was okay but not exceptional. It would have handy if there was an intercom from the gate to the room as I missed a few friends trying to find me. The owners are wonderful and I loved being there
