It was well worth it. Staff were friendly. Large room, comfortable bed, and modern furnishings with mini fridge and coffee machine. Bathrobe, slippers, spa towels were provided too. Breakfast offered was varied. The spa was very large, with a cafe. Two excellent bars/restaurants on the top set inside the planes offer something very different and quirky. An absolutely beautiful area near public transportation that can take you anywhere you want to go. The hotel restaurant was great for breakfast and lunch and was so convenient. You must take the train into the main square in Graz and enjoy bratwurst at one of the local food stands and take the lift in Schlossberg Hill. Very nice place to stay close to Graz. Only negative aspect was one impolite staff member. My question in English regarding hot water for oatmeal was met with scorn and I was directed to the container which stated 'tee'. She then mocked my query to her colleague. I don't speak German well but I understand it perfectly. Her comments were just rude. Perhaps label the container Hot Water? Pity this spoiled what was otherwise a pleasant overnight stay. Great little village with all the comforts one needs. We had dinner in two different Gasthaus of the village and people were very welcoming and helpful! Portions are huge and very tasty!! Great place for local walks or for a day-hike. We also went for a stroll to the playground with our kids and relaxed by the lake. Graz is a beautiful city with plenty to see in a relatively compact area. We were lucky and arrived during a festival weekend. Many locals were in national dress. The many squares in town had food stalls and every type of musical entertainment from oompah bands to acapella. I booked this place on our way from Croatia back to Germany, stayed only one night. We arrived very late, but check-in was very smooth. I communicated with the host and she waited us until we arrived 30-min after my estimated arrival. The hosts were very kind and nice. rooms are large for us a family of 4. Graz is stunning.
Graz is stunning. We came here as a stop gap going on to Slovenia but it was outstanding. We loved all the shops and pretty restaurants. We found a square where there was live music and lots of locals having drinks from food and drink stands. Was such a lovely atmosphere.
