The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. We were here for a week with our baby and felt at home right away. The location of the hotel is perfect. Right at the piste and easy to reach by car during the summer. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and cozy. The view of the mountains is amazing. The saunas are really nice and clean and it was great to swim in the pool afterwards. Breakfast and dinner was outstanding! The suite was large and clean and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely recommend everyone to come here. Hope to come back some day!

I highly recommend this hotel if you are close to Innsbruck or South Bavaria. We traveled from there to Berchtesgaden and it took us through breathing windy roads through the Alps. We arrived late and we were welcomed by friendly staff. Breakfast was a buffet and also a cooked option. Delicious. And the restaurant was with the view - the hotel is based in the middle of the mountains. Room and bathroom were spotless clean. Piece and quiet. Highly recommended.

The location is perfect for access to the main lift and sports equipment rentals. The staff were really friendly and happy to help. I had breakfast and evening meal included in my stay, and was really impressed with the quality and variety of the food. The room was clean and comfortable, and the rooftop pool was a great feature with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. The additional attention to detail and small extras provided during the stay also stood out and made me feel very welcomed.

One of the best things about staying in a cabin was the wonderful huge box of breakfast ingredients that get delivered to your door in the morning which you awake to..just fantastic ! We liked everything: the breakfast was excellent as well as dinner. We also enjoyed the soup and the salad buffet after coming from skiing. We love the detail of always having the same table for our meals and to be identified by family name, and not room number. It was also very useful to have a list of activities for the day.

A very beautiful destination, we were alone on the mountain...

A very beautiful destination, we were alone on the mountain ridges most of the time. We would definitely like to return. For swimming, we recommend the lake in Zell am See rather than the local swimming pool, which is quite small and completely crowded.

This locality is the "snow corner of the Tiro" - it has snow...

This locality is the "snow corner of the Tiro" - it has snow in the valley when other resorts don't. The landscape and the village environments are beautiful and relatively without commercial architecture. The main ski-resort is brilliant - linked to Saalbach - Hin and also family friendly; Go to fantastic InterSport Gunther in the Fieberbrunn town for best value ski hire and apparel. Nearby St Jakob Buchansteinwand small ski area is great for learning and families and excellent value - get ski hire at the lift for best value. It has a family theme park and wonderful langlauf and touring territory as well as the Jakobskreutz - A massive "Cross" building on top of the Buchenstand mountain that can be seen for miles.

The Saliter Hof Hotel location - on flat ground surrounded...

The Saliter Hof Hotel location - on flat ground surrounded by fields - is excellent, as there are great views of mountains in the near distance from the hotel. (A far more expensive hotel, that I visited to meet friends, was deep in a valley with high mountains on either side so the view was very limited). My hotel was about half full in late September, but imagine the whole place is packed with skiing parties when the snow arrives. Either drive yourself or a hire car is essential to get around, though my hotel had bicycles available for local exploring. In the winter months, quite nearby, I could see a ski-jumping centre for those brave highly skilled skiers who want to fly through the air. In fact there were 4 different height ski jump tracks for beginners right through to Olympic standard experts. The hotel was even better than expected, with a wellness centre on the top floor, and 2 sauna cabins open 2pm-8pm. Breakfast was very good and the balcony was an extra bonus. Saalfelden, the main town has supermarkets for supplies, and petrol stations for your car. But note; the speed limits on roads change very frequently. Without knowing it, you can cross between 80 kph, 60 kph, 30 kph and occasionally 100 kph (for only a short distance) all within a couple of minutes. Be careful !

Leogang is a hidden gem attached to the Skicircus Saalbach.

Leogang is a hidden gem attached to the Skicircus Saalbach. We come to Leogang (Rain) for the easy connection to this massive ski area, without the crowds or noise of Saalbach. The ski runs down to Leogang itself are among the best in this area, with #206 being a great cruising blue with unexpectedly excellent snow late in the day when everything else was slush, and lots of fun short reds and blues for the weak-legged at the top of Asitz. Leogang village is quite spread out between the Sonnrain/Leogang/Rosental area (a small village with a supermarket and bakery), Rain (a small hamlet with a massive hotel, attached restaurant and little else), and... whatever the bottom of the Asitzbahn is called - still Leogang? We came via train, and used the train/bus to get around, but be aware Leogang station is a 25 minute walk from anywhere useful. Rain has a large hotel and not a lot else. We did need to go on hour-round-trip walks to get to the supermarket in Leogang proper. That was fine, because we were here for the skiing and the access to the skiing is great. If you're looking for a very quiet, upmarket environment with great skiing access, Rain is the place to stay. If you want more convenience, check out either Leogang itself (more stuff, but you'll be bussing to the lifts if the morning) or the Asitzbahn area (a bit more to do than Rain, but no station).

Calm little village with perfect location as starting point...

Calm little village with perfect location as starting point for skiing in 3 ski resorts included in Saalbach SkiCircus. Nothing to do in the evening, so it's not for the night life, but I did saw one night club with young people going out late, and the is Zell am See 8 minutes by car! There is also SPAR market in the center.

We are not so young anymore (76) and you"ll have to climb a staircase to the first floor. Viehhofen is close to Zell Am See and Lofer and there is enough for walking and seeing and climbing or to take a lift up the mountains. Traffic is pretty easy to negotiate.

Hochfilzen is great for cross-country skiing, its wery close to Fieberbrunn downhill skiing lift. There's nordic academy where they rent cross country skiing equipment and offer great biathlon experience for dummies. Biathlon experience was really enjoyable. But when weather goes bad, there's nothing to do there and area around. Even no restaurant is open during the day. Closest restaurants are located in Fieberbrunn or Leogang. In Leogang they charged parking fee 9 Eur during 1 hour stop for the lunch break.

I was attending the World Championships ski races.

I was attending the World Championships ski races. Hats off to the Austrian planners. It was well-organized, fun, exciting. Police presence made me feel safe--not paranoid. Grandstands and viewing places were terrific!

Saalfelden is a cute little resort town close to Saalbach...

Saalfelden is a cute little resort town close to Saalbach Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn ski fields. One hour from Salzburg, 2 hours from Innsbruck & Munich. There are a few supermarkets and it is very central to lots of cities. Haci Buba Bistro is a great place to eat, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from (& a McDonalds). Zell Am See is 15 minutes south, which is a must-visit town with a beautiful lake. We enjoyed our stay here.

This was a great surprise for us.

This was a great surprise for us. The accommodation has great views and surroundings and there is plenty to do nearby for the entire family. The room was very clean and had all the amenities needed. We noticed the attention to details everywhere, starting with the reception officers, which were very welcoming and helpful and ending with the room itself. It was a great surprise for us and we would recommend this hotel for a nice relaxing vacation in Austrian Alps.
