Very busy place and would not like to live there.
Very busy place and would not like to live there. The crowds and traffic seem to do whatever they want with no real rules applied. We did a ghost tour, MCG tour and went to ArtVo which was fun. Picked up food on the run as we went. MJ The Musical was why we were in Melbourne and it was just the best. Well worth the trip from South Australia. We wandered down the lovely Yarra and Southbank and on to The Crown casino. Queen Victoria markets is worth a visit.Guest review byJillAustralia - 8.0

Geelong has a lot to offer with some great restaurants, cafes and pubs for meals. Well located if you want to travel to other places like Lorne, Barwon Heads, Queenscliff, but want more reasonable hotel rates, Geelong is more reasonably priced. Good shopping and great waterfront. Easy to get around with either public transport or car. There’s lots of wineries nearby so that’s also a bonus.Guest review byTraceyAustralia - 10

Walks, exploring, R and R, shopping and eating out. We loved walking out on the rock jetty and talking with local fishermen. Enjoyed Marriners Lookout, great sea views and vegetation of the area. All of the food we experienced was very good and appropriate as advertised - presented with care and knowledge.Guest review byChristineAustralia - 10

Easy city to navigate, sightseeing venues central, easy to locate. Staff in shops professional & friendly, happy, good service is shops. Good range of shopping & eateries available, only criticism would be that we couldn’t find a coffee shop open after 4pm on Sunday, apart from the RSL. Botanical gardens worth visiting. Train service from Melbourne very efficient, clean. Station easy walk to shops.Guest review byLorraineAustralia - 10

Really enjoyed the Paddle Steamer excursion and gaining an understanding of the 'lock system' along the river. People were friendly and helpful. Best dining experience was 'Enjoywine Char Grill & Bar'. Amazing food and great service. Also, really enjoyed the visit to Wentworth Gaol and the Wentworth Pioneer Museum - really interesting! Was disappointed that some of the places we wanted to visit were not open Monday to Wednesday - but these are places we can visit next time we are there!Guest review byPeakAustralia - 10

Old Wharf area very interesting with so much to see , donation only to enter interpretive center. Many hotels and cafes to choose from, good selection for meals. We loved the Shamrock pub. If you have time go on a steamboat or ride on a buggy. Very clean town.Guest review byLynneAustralia
