I have stayed in several different hotels in Barbados in a period of over 30 years. I'm afraid The Sandpiper wins hands down! In terms of dining, the hotel offers complete flexibility - you can decide whether or not to eat in the restaurant without pre-booking; or you can walk out to one of the many restaurants in nearby Holetown (The Sitar Indian is particularly good). The Sandpiper has an excellent 20m swimming pool, ideal for people like us who swim as a form of exercise; there is a smaller pool for children/families. Above all The Sandpiper has a friendly and enthusiastic team; everyone went out of their way to be helpful. No wonder most of the people staying here are on their 3rd, 4th or maybe even 10th visit! I will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Shades! The apartment was a nice size and well appointed. The property is well maintained and has a lovely, private oasis feeling. We loved hearing various birds and seeing monkeys pass by daily. The location was great-4 min walk to the beach, a short walk to some good restaurants and a short bus/taxi ride to several more. The host, Rochelle, and her family made us feel very much at home. She was very responsive and gave us great tips for where to visit and where to eat as well as arranged taxis for us. We would definitely book Shades again!

The apartment is very cozy and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helped us with everything we needed – and so much more. The parking, pool, and access to the beach club are definitely great perks. I highly recommend it and sincerely thank the hosts for their hospitality.

Very spacious,excellent value ,well equipped kitchen. Bob the host was excellent,very helpful and gave us a good fact sheet as well as arranging taxis and taking us shopping on our first night . 5 -10 minutes walk to beach and road where there were buses and the Cliff Restaurant . Lovely neighbour - Dorothy too !

The apartment was spacious, very clean with a well equipped kitchen. Located in a nice quiet area, close to the bus route and close to a beautiful beach. Joyanne and Margeuerite were wonderful and very helpful.
