A most beautiful eclectic & quirky Bed & Breakfast. Parking on site is secure & safe. The owner was so welcoming when we arrived a little early & offered us tea & coffee, which was very welcome after a 3 hour drive. He gave us a lot of interesting information on the history of the house. The room was beautifully decorated on the top floor. ( if you find climbing stairs a little difficult, ask for a first floor room). The dining room was set out to share the table with fellow travellers, which encouraged interesting conversation. The breakfast offered was varied & of good quality. Lovely home made jams, fruit, yohgurt & very tasty French cheeses. If requested eggs & ham as well. Teas and coffee. The house in addition has a lovely back garden, ideal for those lovely summer days. So all in all a very pleasant stop over for us. Would highly recommend.

Quiet rooms, comfortable bed, extremely clean, very well-furnished. polite, helpful staff. room is cleaned daily which i find less and less usual but i really appreciate it. very good breakfast. perfect location - metro, train stations in walk distance and shops and restaurants everywhere around. very safe neughbourhood in the heart of the city. the hotel has quite a good name beteeen locals, is known as "the nice place" in lille. what i really loved and the reason i d definitely booked again is the all day open buffet where you can get yourself a coffee, tea, water, biscuits. i travelled by myself and i found extremely comforting and nice that after the walks around the city you could sit and relax there. this and the helpful staff make the place very welcoming.

    Staff went over and above to make us some food straight away on arrival after a long day travelling. The accommodation was really lovely and comfortable, only 4? Guest rooms so not over crowded, plenty of built in wardrobe and shelf space for clothes,bathroom modern and had plenty of towels, robes to wear and slippers for the spa. tea and coffee always available from coffee pod machine and kettle on corridor, always topped up, it was better that it was in sight of the staff to top up rather than having it in the room and having to ask for more. Resident cat leelou was adorable and made us feel home from home. Breakfast was promptly left outside the room on a trolley at time requested. Spa facilities lovely and clean. Really enjoyed our trip, lovely memories. Thank you!

    Staff were brilliant from check in to check out. My daughter became unwell and the black gentleman on reception was very kind staff were nice at breakfast too. Very good location very easy walk to centre. Slept well. Did not use kitchenette to cook but it did appear to have what would have been needed. Parking was good too - payable but safe. Sweets on bed on arrival. Perfect for overnight stay.

    This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. Very quiet rooms - double door so we didn't hear corridor noise. The bed was lovely, the air con effective, the shower was good. The location and view to the square were perfect. The staff were so kind and polite - arranged for us to keep the room for an extra couple of hours so we could return for a shower prior to our train.

    The best location! Wonderfully comfortable beds and excellent shower. Quite steep sides to the bath, so as the shower is over the bath this might be difficult for some people - worth making a request when booking. Staff at reception very welcoming and helpful.     Great renovation of this hospital with fabulous high ceilings and some modern touches that preserved the historical building. The indoor heated pool is wonderful. The massage too and the restaurant were very decent too. Very accommodating staff. And super dog friendly.

    Everything we wanted to visit was within a two kilometre...

    Everything we wanted to visit was within a two kilometre radius of our apartment. The old city is great, but difficult in a wheelchair over all those cobbles. That didn't stop us, however! We went to two excellent Michelin starred restaurants - Purete and La Table at Hotel Clarance - and had good meals at Restaurant Sebastopol and Les Casseroles Lilloises. The City Bus Tour via the Tourist Office is only an hour, but is an excellent introduction to the city.

    We stopped in Dunkirk as wanted to do something different en route to UK. The Dunkirk 1940 museum was recommended and this is why we went. The museum was very interesting and brought the reality of Operation Dynamo home to us more so than watching the movie. We also walked around the town which had an eclectic mix of architecture from all the rebuilding over the years.

    Worst host and room I have ever seen.

    Worst host and room I have ever seen. They present everything beautifully, but on the inside it is downright filthy. Hair in the bed from previous visitors, dirty footprints on the stairs, clearly not vacuumed, mold everywhere. No form of ventilation possible, so even if you wanted to stay here, you actually can’t stay here because of your health. When we reported this to the host, we basically got the answer that we should clean it ourselves if we thought we could do it better. He also said that the lack of ventilation would not cause any harm. Additionally, they are not reachable by phone and do not respond to the emails sent via Booking, which also shows no willingness to cooperate in any way. DO NOT BOOK THIS ACCOMODATION!!

The Musee de la Chartreuse is particularly interesting and historic and has a reasonable collection of European renaissance paintings and french impressionists. I particularly visited there to see the Marie and Henri Duhem impressionist paintings. You can see the main attractions in the town within a day.

    Lille is a small, walkable city with beautiful architecture. Two days is plenty to see all the sights in the city, but worth adding a third day to visit La Piscine in Roubaix, which is less than half an hour away, via the Metro.

    Didn't get chance to look round Dunkerque as we were going...

    Didn't get chance to look round Dunkerque as we were going elsewhere, so only got to see the beach briefly and enjoy a meal at a seafront restaurant, but it looks like a place we would have loved exploring so will come back one day.

    Faultless. Superb welcome. fantastic property and great room. The best shower. Spotless! Great private or on street parking available. Wonderful hosts. The property had a wonderful vibe and even smelt wonderful! Loved it!
