My stay here was delightful. I rented one of their one bedroom, one bath units on the beach. It is fully equipped with a Keurig, a blender, cutlery, glassware, plates and more. The refrigerator had Sands Beer and bottles of water + a jug of purified water for the coffee. There is a screen TV, a moder bathroom, with a state-of-the art shower system you would find in a luxury hotel. The bed was comfortable, but the best part was how quiet and serine it was. No hotel noises and their A/C unit is as quiet as a whisper when it's on. The complex sits right on the water. You can watch a sunrise or sit on the deck and watch the sunset. Better yet, hop in a hammock and look up into the night sky and see hundreds of stars. While the property is still going through renovations and expansion, my stay was peaceful, and quiet. The rates are competitive, and of great value. Given how spacious each studio is, how close you are to the water/beach, and how clean, and well-appointed the rooms are - Great Cistern Beach Village was a great find!

Very clean and spacious rooms. Loved the pool. This hotel is on the Caribbean side. It’s not right on the beach but you can walk easily to the beach in 1 min. You definitely need a car when you re staying in this island. ( there is a good Rental next to the hotel. JP car Rental )poest ask nr from the hotel. But in this hotel they have amazing food restaurant and oh my god the cocktails made from Mr.Jonshon are amazing. And service at the restaurant is also very good! Please try the pizzas ! They are from hot wooden oven. I can’t praise and thank the hotel management Stefani and Andrea enough. They are the most beautiful hearted persons I’ve ever met. So.. the bed is very good! Location is amazing because it’s in the middle of The island. There is a pool. Restaurant. WiFi is good. 1min walk to the beach. Rooms are big and the staff is amazing and so friendly! If you still looking witch airport to come. Arrive to governor harbour. This hotel is about 10mins. Other airports are 1h

To escape the hustle of everyday life, this place is truly a paradise. A haven on Earth, the cabins are surrounded by lush greenery just a few meters from a pristine one-mile-long white sand beach. Here, you won't encounter hordes of tourists; instead, you'll often have the beach all to yourself. The sand is soft, the shoreline is gradual, and the water is warm and crystal clear. We highly recommend snorkeling to explore the easily accessible coral reefs. On the beach, complimentary showers and beach chairs are available. Finally, we had time for ourselves, delving into books and savoring moments of relaxation that are hard to come by in the bustling city. The cabins offer everything you need, making them suitable for an extended stay — a comfortable bed, ample storage space, a refrigerator, stove, sink, microwave, spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi (even reaching the beach), beach towels, and more. If you don't plan to rent a car, the nearest town is a 20-minute walk away, offering bar, 2 grocery stores — all accepting credit cards. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the warmth and friendliness of the local islanders. They greet you with waves and smiles. If you have a car, exploring the island is highly recommended, with its caves, lagoons, secluded beaches with azure waters, and charming towns. Alex is exceptionally accommodating and will assist with anything you need to make your stay truly exceptional, whether it's information about the island, tips for excursions, or just friendly conversation. We spent two weeks here, and time flew by quickly. We were reluctant to leave this paradise and return home. A few tips: Pre-book a taxi from the airport, as we didn't find any available upon arrival and had to scramble for transportation. Have some cash on hand, as not all places accept cards, though most do. The nearest ATM is in Governors Harbour. You can arrange car rental online or ask Alex for contact.

Beautiful property amidst well maintained local trees and flowering shrubs. Very pretty island setting and each villa is private and secluded. The room was quaint, decorated in island style and color and was spacious and comfortable. We loved the setting and will choose Pineapple Fields again

Georgetown is not well maintained, and it was hard and slow to get a water taxi over to Coconut Club on Stocking Island. The liquor tried to charge me US$82 for a small bottle of Tequila - which was clearly not the real price

Location is perfect for visiting the breathtaking views of the northern part of Great Exuma and the hotel itself is on a beautiful beach. All rooms are spacious and modernly designed, most amenities, comfy beds and a balcony! Free coffee every morning in the lobby and varied menus for dinner each evening. The staff, as with all Bahamians is friendly, welcoming and they accommodated all of our requests. We enjoyed the live music on Wednesday with a Sax player! A rental car makes the stay in Georgetown more enjoyable, taxis are available but tend to run between $35-$55 per ride, so a car, even at $100 pre day is worth it.

I really enjoy Alice Town and this is not my first time here-I have made several return trips-but, I would say ( as they say "Eleuthera isn't for everyone") it is very rustic and peaceful and that is what I like, but some may shy away from the lack of restaurants and spotty electricity and " modern conveniences"... I really love the Rainbow Room , and Big Rock, and the Glass Window Bridge restaurant-and just exploring- but, the roads are dicey and there is no guarantee when/if places will be open-I used to really like the Front Porch, but have not found it to be open the past couple of visits-

Perfect spot to get to, especially if you are a private pilot. 20% of the flight cost compared to retail options. Quaint island, walkable but golf cart preferred. Tons to do on the water in a very close and manageable timeframe/distances with young kids. On land has a couple shops/groceries, 2 or 3 bars and some great sand and secluded beaches (don't miss Pirate Trap beach). Easy day or two to keep kids happy on land. We did one boating day north (Rachels Bubble Bath - hit at high tide, Compass Cay sharks - also great at high tide, Little Pipe Cay sand bars - hit at low tide, 007 grotto - hit at low tide, sunken airplane in 5' of water - hit at low tide, Pig Beach - get there early to avoid crowds) AND one day south (Little Farmers Cay - swim with turtles, great walkaround island to see shops, bars, runway, Bitter Guana Cay - iguanas swarm you on a beautiful beach, Oven Rock & Gemstone Cave - very easy 8-10 minute trail walk, Rudder Cay to see the piano - low tide is best). North ride max point was 20-25 minutes. South to Little Farmers is 30-35 minutes (100HP, 18' Boston Whaler). Hitting Rudder Cay would be another 15 minutes south. Loads of other places to stop and see too by boat, plus tons of secluded beaches, coves, etc. to explore. Overall, great island. Very small, just big enough to have some action around of some kind yet quiet at the same time. Yacht Club is the center point of it all.

Had taxi stop at market and liquor store when we arrived for beer and sunscreen to take to St Francis Resort & Marina where we stayed on a houseboat with beautiful views! Staff was super accommodating and very nice! Sterling was amazing! Chef at Snappy Turtle restaurant prepared fantastic meals that did not disappoint. Kayaked to Chat N Chill and had so much fun! Locals are friendly and helpful. Overall a wonderful location to unplug and explore. Highly recommend.

Loved every second on Staniel Cay. It is paradise on earth.

Loved every second on Staniel Cay. It is paradise on earth. Now I just have to win "lotto" so I can take all my friends there. Highlight of our visit was spending the day out on the water visiting Pig Island and swimming with the pigs, the nurse sharks, snorkelling into Thunderball Grotto with my partner. By the time we snorkelled out I had gained my confidence in the water and we were able to snorkel out through the gap holding hands (a very special experience as it was his dream for us to see this place together)

We have never seen a more beautiful place - on the ocean side of the road. The other side of the road showed a lot of neglect and trash, but the beauty opposite this was so incredible you are able to ignore the rest. Also, the locals are all so incredibly helpful and friendly! I never once felt fearful.

If you're looking for nightlife or nice restaurants to eat...

If you're looking for nightlife or nice restaurants to eat this is not the place to go. There is literally one place that you can eat. It's hard to find food to cook on your own because you have to wait for the boat to come in if you're buying groceries, there's not a lot and they are expensive. If you want to fish and boat, this is the place but it is very expensive to rent. At night time there is absolute nothing to do but sit home and drink or go to the one bar "yacht club" to drink.
