The hosts are so friendly, the room was large, spotless & very cosy and the breakfast delicious. The bed was comfortable. You can really feel the care that the hosts put in to ensuring you have a comfortable stay and that is something special. From the helpful information folder to the milk in the fridge, from the fluffy robe to the towel hooks in the bathroom, every detail has been thought of so that you can really feel at home.Guest review byAlisonUnited Kingdom

If you want to feel like you have come home, be warmly greeted wherever you may go, then you will enjoy visiting Antigonish. Home to St Francis Xavier University (St FX), Saint Martha's Hospital, the town is a great base from which to explore hiking, beaches and local arts and crafts in NS.Guest review byDanielleCanada - 6.0

Pictou is rather a small town with a pleasant waterfront area but there is not a great deal to do and only limited choice of restaurants. The main attractions is the museum and replica vessel of the first Scottish settlers. We were there is October and unfortunately this was closed and the vessel was under going renovation action. There is also apparently a very nice trail along the shore but again this was under renovation action and closed. A very pleasant little place to stroll round but one day would probably be enough.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom - 6.0

I enjoyed having a clean room with a nice view of a courtyard. Accommodations were more than adequate for my needs and the host was very pleasant . Being right in the heart of downtown Amherst was great as I could walk to many local eateries and take a walk on scenic Victoria Street. Would book this room again.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
A lovely small town to wander around at the weekend.
A lovely small town to wander around at the weekend. The local beer is delicious, as is the home made ice cream. The Nook and Cranny restaurant served a great home made burger, washed down with a glass of the local ‘Hippy Dippy’ light ale from the Tatamagouche Brewery. Our stay at the Train Station Inn was very enjoyable and we would recommend staying there if you like something different. The rooms are renovated cabooses and there is a cafe/gift shop in the station building, along with a dining car that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Excellent food! There is a Saturday farmers market that also has live music. Jost vineyard is just up the road and is a lovely spot for wine tasting and lunch - the wood fired pizza is delicious! We walked up the railway trail and back, which runs along the French River and is very scenic. There is also a play park and small beach along the trail where you can stop and enjoy the view, while the kids play on the park and beach. Sugar Moon Farm isn’t too far down the road, either. All in all it’s a lovely town with enough to see and do for a couple or three days.Guest review byJaneCanada - 6.0

We booked 2 rooms via booking.com and we were able to finish the booking. Halfway on our trip to the hotel, they called us to advise that there’s only one room available. They booked us with another hotel which was way more expensive.Guest review byRosalie - 10.0
The cottages were very clean and efficient.
The cottages were very clean and efficient. The scenery was really amazing, and the hosts were, as I said, beyond gracious. A very quiet and relaxing place to be. We highly recommend Bayfield Sea Scape to anyone thinking about going there! Sitting on the deck looking out at the water and wildlife, awesome!Guest review bymatthews - 10.0

Charming university town with plenty of history and beautiful old homes and churches and buildings. Lots of different restaurants and coffee shops with outdoor dining options, little unique shops as well as bigger commercial stores are handy. Country roads all around for drives to explore the farmlands and the coast. Farmers Markets and Expedition Fair events to visit, late August is bustling with tourists and students settling in for fall. Easy to walk to most places locally and is also centrally located in Nova Scotia, close to all 3 other Atlantic provinces.Guest review byPamelaCanada - 10.0
Very friendly people.
Very friendly people. The sheep farm and wool store and lavender farm were the best. Town decided to clean a septic area in front of a restaurant at lunch time! STINKY and LOUD. Ate at Harbour House Ales and Spirits.. save your money. Nook and Cranny delicious.Guest review byLee - 10.0

Amherst is wonderfully located for numerous day trips in central Nova Scotia - day trips along the Northumberland shore and along the Bay of Fundy are both easy. Not to be missed is the guided tour at the Joggins Fossil Cliffs. A stop at Deanne Fitzpatrick Studios should be a mandatory stop - the artistic rug hooking is awe-inspiring. The Art of Eating Deli and Duncan's Pub were my favorites for coffees/lunches and dinners, respectively.Guest review byJanetCanada
