- From US$219.93 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 912 reviewsThe location was great, just up a small hill overlooking Banff. Easy access by car to the rest of the National park. The food at the restaurant was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend booking a Mountain View room, as although it was a bit extra, the view from the window and outside seating area were more than worth it. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but rather popped into town each morning to the nearby Tim Hortons.Guest review byMatthewUnited Kingdom

The staff team are exceptional - friendly, very helpful, happy and really seem to want to give you the best experience. The lodges are comfortable, very clean and exactly what's needed for a relaxing time. Johnston Canyon is a beautiful setting, great to be able to walk up the stunning canyon from the doorstep. The Bistro is lovely, great staff and delicious food.Guest review byDebbieUnited Kingdom

The hotel was great! You can even order bottle of wine to be ready for your check-in time.. Swimming in the hot spring outdoors while it's snowing is just awesome. Especially in the winter!Guest review byTaisiiaUkraine

Wonderful area to explore the mountains of Canada.
Wonderful area to explore the mountains of Canada. Early October didn't have too many crowds. There are many places to see on your own, so consider renting a car and hitting the road. We truly enjoyed the fresh, mountain air and the downtown area of Banff. Banff is quite expensive, especially going out to eat, so be prepared for that.Guest review byErikaUnited States - 10.0
What can I say except for WOW!
What can I say except for WOW! My husband and I were there in Sept/Oct and everywhere we turned was another magnificent view of a mountain, glacier, canyon, lake. We rented bikes and rode to Vermillion Lakes and beyond. We hiked up Johnston Canyon, we took easy and more challenging walks, and met people from around the world. We flew into Calgary, drove to Banff, then to Castle Junction and stayed in two places I would recommend - Johnston Canyon Lodge and Bungaloos and Castle Mountain Chalets. We had a great trip!Guest review byChinelli - 10.0
Banff is a great town!
Banff is a great town! An hour away from Lake Louise and Lake Moraine and the beginning of the Icefields Parkway. Great places to eat! We ate at the Elk & Oarsman, which is changing it's name to just the Elk. Food was great, service excellent, and the view from the rooftop dinning was spectacular! It is a tourist town, but a great place to base a trip to Banff National Park.Guest review bychrisg4jcUnited States - 10.0
A wonderful spot for a family get-together.
A wonderful spot for a family get-together. We had 6 cabins, close to each other, very clean and big enough to be very comfortable. Kitchens had everything one could think of to prepare our meals. Lots of open space for children to run free and play safely without any worry about traffic. The Johnson Canyon hike just down the road is amazing but it is likely best not to plan to do it on a long weekend in the summer as crowded.Guest review byGailCanada - 8.0

Very much a tourist town, parking is an issue throughout the entire area. Beautiful area, Use tour company or transfer buses from train depot to get to Lake Louise and Lake Morraine, private vehicles not allowed.Guest review byBryan - 10.0
I can't say enough about the amazing staff!
I can't say enough about the amazing staff! Friendly, accommodating, and understanding. I went for the long weekend with my family that included my 2 year old granddaughter. We arrived a little early & though we were prepared to wait till check in time, we were told our unit was cleaned and we could get in right away. Since I had called ahead regarding sleeping options for the 2 year old, a playpen was there on arrival. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of firewood left as well, as seeing more on the porch the next day. The only slight disappointment was finding out the hot tub was removed during covid. Other than that, it was an amazing, extremely comfortable stay.Guest review byAnonymous
