Kamloops isn't the regular stopping point for many.
Kamloops isn't the regular stopping point for many. We made use of the various walks, the Kenna Cartwright park had a fabulous ridge walk. We ate in the Noble Pig, walkable from the accommodation and well worth the visit. Kamloops lake is very popular if you have a boat or like fishing. It is a town of many sports, we even found a "horseshoe" court! Wild deer came into town to eat the overflowing vegetables at the community gardens. We had no room service after the first night ......disappointed. The general room maintenance was mediocre at best. The tub drain was defective, the window screens were dirty and one window seal was broken. The window looked dirty as a result. The wall area above the tub tile was dirty. The north end of Penticton, has wonderful walking paths along the lake and beautiful views up the lake. The paths have lots of benches along them for enjoying various views. The main downtown is easily walkable and there are some interesting shops on Main Street and Front Street. Petrasek Bakery has marvellous pastries and coffee. Too short. It was an overnight stay. Seems like a nice place. But the Ace Western Motel was not at all how it was posted on the site. Older photos on site. Our stay there was not pleasurable. I was there for work! I would highly recommend the Indian restaurant there! Mughal garden restaurant. I’ve been to a lot of Indian restaurants in Vancouver and this is right up there for quality.
