Highly recommend only staying in this region especially if you are shopping for building materials and furniture. Many places will send Didi cars to pick you up. Dongguan is not a destination city. It does not have the things to do that Shenzhen and Guangzhou have. But if you are there on business or visiting friends, there are some things to do. The mall off of the Hongfu subway stop is nice. Qifeng park is huge and beautiful. Grateful Q is a great restaurant with amazing ribs.
