The location is puerly magical!! It offers sunsets like nowhere else in the area of Tayrona (the National Park does not have such beautiful sunsets). It has a fantastic surrounding nature. It has both the luxury confortable option (suites) and the spectacular options (cabana). The Maloka is a mix between confort and spectacular. Staff is lovely and very accomodating. We took a great yoga class with Haile at sunrise. We had drinks in the Sierra bar, and a parrot was naturally roaming around. The photo is taken from the Sierra bar, which is near Cabana.

We arrived late afternoon which meant our room was ready straight away. The hotel were helpful in advance letting us of the park entrance ticket booth closing time which meant we arrived before closing time (5pm). The hotel is beautiful, the views are fantastic and the sky was clear both nights we were there which meant we could stargaze from our terrace. It was super quiet and peaceful. Right by one of the main entrances to the park, easy to find and very easy to start our hike into the park early in the morning. They have a pingpong table and board games in the dining room which were fun to play in the evenings too. We will be back!

A beautiful and clean Apartment in the middle of Tayrona National Park, a few meters from the beach. Sounds like the perfect place, and it is! With a big open air bathroom and a terrace with a hammock in front. The Restaurant is also nice and the beach is good for swimming. Next time we would stay longer than 1 night!

Fantastic "Casa" where you feel at home, just steps from the ocean in beautiful Mendihuaca beach. Constious architecture, full of details, amazing vibe, great breakfast. The team went far and beyond to accomodate my needs of food and transportation, and I they helped me to organize tubing in the nearby river that was a highlight of my trip. We loved the Rio Piedras river, which was accessible from the beautiful SENDA Koguiwa hotel. Stay was too short to go to the Tayrona park or the beach. BUT we will allow for more days to do this on our next trip.

Guachaca was a nice tiny village to stay in with proximity...

Guachaca was a nice tiny village to stay in with proximity to both Buritaca and Costeño beaches and Tayrona park. It's easy to catch the bus to take you along the main road to these other towns and some hikes. You can swim in the Guachaca river and there is a hike up to a waterfall on the river as well, Cascada Saltillo.

Fantastic hotel tucked away from the busier tourist areas .

Fantastic hotel tucked away from the busier tourist areas .Very relaxing , car or taxi needed to visit restaurant's away from this area . Swimming in the sea is not possible due to strong waves but the pool at the hotel was lovely . We ate at the hotel most night and food and drinks were good value . Highly recommended for a relaxing escape

It's just a small collection of buildings along a highway...

It's just a small collection of buildings along a highway with major transport vehicles, and all restaurants are open air along the highway. Rather depressing, and not a good spot to get food/snacks for backpacking into the park. Though we were able to get cash from one of the stores, they charged us an 11% fee. As an adventurous person who likes to avoid crowds in national parks, I thought the Calabazo entrance would've been a great way to see the park & wildlife, but it wasn't really worth it. We exited through the Zaino entrance & preferred the accommodations & hiking paths found there. In low season (Nov 27 & 28th) there weren't all that many people anyway.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, pool was very nice with the sierra on the back. room was clean and spacious. Sound of the river was very relaxing. Food is very good and tasty, patacones were our favorites. Service just needs to be from good to great to make this the perfect hotel.

Beaches are not as packed as they commonly are in Santa...

Beaches are not as packed as they commonly are in Santa Marta during high seasons. Nice place to relax while being surrounded by beautiful nature. Of course, not everything is perfect, but you wouldn't expect that while visiting Latin America. As it is outside the city, it can be a bit hard to find good restaurants, so you might want to find a hostel with its own restaurant or book one with a kitchen to cook your meals.

In general, the online description of the trail is not...

In general, the online description of the trail is not accurate. You are crossing a mountain range.... steep ups and downs followed by a steep down to the resort. Trails are not to U.S./Canada standards especially when one adds in the fact that horse/burrow traffic is a necessity for supplies. Hope for no precipitation.

For those wanting to hike the Tayrona trail, this resort is close by the entrance of the park, and it is a blessing to have this place nearby after hours of walking in the heat. I had a deep tissue massage after my walk and it was divine. My room was beautiful and spacious. Breakfast here is delicious and very generous. Highly recommend.

The best hostal in Tayrona!!!

The best hostal in Tayrona!!! Great small cozy and confortable hostal in the middle of the nature with great views. The room was spacious with a great bed and a private bathroom, great view to the mountains and quiet in the night. I will definitely be back soon. Delicious coffee and pancakes for breakfast. Its 8 minutes walking from the road and 15 minutes walking to the beach los cocos.
