It was truly amazing from beginning to end !! My friend was visiting from Canada and sadly needs a wheelchair to get around , I honestly could not believe how helpful and warm and kind everyone was ! The help we received regarding the wheelchair situation was top notch !!! When I say top notch I really mean it ! Our room was perfect as it was also wheelchair accessible!!! I was so worried if I was ever going to find a way to show my friend the Volcano while she was here , it was on the top of her list and if it where not for everyone at the Manoa Resort I don't think we could have done it ! Then let's talk about the spa " WOW " that's the only way to describe it ! We both had massages that sent us straight to heaven !!!! We were so relaxed we could barley keep our eyes open but we knew we had to get into the Mineral Springs lol well after that we ate a fabulous late lunch in the Springs area and ended up falling asleep at the table because we were so relaxed !!! I was so embarrassed hahaha ! I hope no one was looking lol ! Best Margiritas ever !!! I don't think either of us has ever had such an amazing sleep that night !!! Excellent breakfast buffet / everything you could ever want!!!! We had a perfect view of the Volcano from our room !!! We were only planning on staying 4 nights but because we just couldn't bring ourselves to pack our bags so we decided to stay another night !! Hahaha ! Then the most amazing gift came along , it was the Manager of the Lodge who was absolutely lovely in every way ! She was very pleased to hear we were staying another night and then she said she had been trying to make contact with us all day ? I'm thinking hummm , I couldn't figure out why ? The location is very quiet, the room is large, the personnel helps a lot on any issue. We were able to do a small laundry, still very expensive but also very helpful. From all the places we've been in Costa Rica this hotel had the best breakfast, with very good quality products. One can see also plenty of birds around the breakfast zone, the pool and the gardens. They were always so helpful and polite and very patient with explanations. Everyone customer-facing spoke excellent English. The room was spacious and very comfortable, with a large shower. Each room stands alone and has a small table outside with a view of the volcano (can't miss it!). The best thing is the bar/spa/hots springs area... Wow! Awesome pools with hot spring water and mini waterfalls. The centre is not over touristified. A few good supermarkets. A good variety of food options, with some good Sodas. A lot of accommodation to choose from. Nice Central Park. Our trip was mostly rejuvenation, health and to access the volcano and hot springs. We went to Arenal park and hiked the trail to the Volcano. We saw a Capibara but most other wildlife is best viewed in the early morning. There were a lot of orchids in bloom along the trails. Going to EcoTermales Hotspring was the highlight. It's a gorgeous naturally constructed spa with layered pools, waterfalls all built with stacked granite rockery, bridges and pathways connect the pools, and there's plenty of seating, an open bar that serves the best mixed drinks. The restaurant served fresh healthy assortment of seafood and meats with veggie dishes with dessert at Lunch. The water was fed from the natural hotspring, which was circulated , refreshed constantly with fresh volcanic water. Attention to the holistic elements of nature were throughout. We enjoyed the area and while we did a lot including driving to Monteverde for zipline tour, we chose one day of pampering rather than adventure so did not hike around Arenal or paddle board on Arenal. We did white water rafting between Puerto Viejo and Fortuna. We did waterfall repelling near Fortuna (amazing). The people are friendly and the area is lovely. We enjoyed a night time nature tour with our hotel (Noah's Landing) and Nayara Gardens was amazing. We saw plenty of sloths but so much more! We went to the Mistico hanging bridges on a rainy day which worked well-it did not matter. We also visited the Fortuna Waterfall (500 steps down-then 500 steps up but worth it!) This is a great area to experience Costa Rica and the wildlife.
