Wonderful hotel with a cozy atmosphere that surpassed my wife and my expectations and excellent location for foot passengers. Breakfast was truly amazing with a great selection and the price is well worth it - but would suggest to go early before rush hour so you fully enjoy the experience and charm. Like the echo concept and drive to remove fridges and kettle from room and easy to grab a coffee from the bar anyway ;) Lovely room that was super cozy and quirky and had all that we needed. Staff were almost excellent and chambermaids excellent. I will always book this hotel when I return to Kiel.

    On a wet Sunday morning in Kiel, the maritime museum on the harbourside was a welcome find. A survey of the city's history from fishing to 19th century yachting regattas, and of course the Naval heritage. Good English translations . Friendly staff.

    This holiday flat wowed us with its location and beautiful views. Although the area around the marina is still under construction at the moment, we did not find this having an impact on our stay. Would love to come back to see the development finished. The flat itself is beautiful, spacious and has everything we needed. The panorama window in the living room and the balcony are spectacular! The sunsets on the eastern side of the Kiel fjord are something to behold. We sat on the balcony every evening, mesmerised by the views. Breakfast on the balcony was lovely, too. We observed the many different seabirds on the little bit of land on the other side of the marina. The little bistro in the harbour was a useful stop for a night cap, ice cream or snacks. The local supermarket is a short car (or bike) drive away. Schleswig_Holstein is my home, so there are far too many places for me to recommend! We did spend some lovely days in Laboe and on the beaches in Schönberg and Hohwacht. The best fish rolls of all time is being sold of the back of a van in Laboe harbour!

    Kiel is a City that is very welcoming and where it is easy to get around. There is plenty of activities and things to look at in museums and shops. Easy and many (cheap) shopping possibilities and many good restaurants. Certainly worth a visit.

    Kiel seems to be a nice town with a broad range of shops an amenities. We did not go there by choice, but to attend a family event involving the death of a close relative. Our stay was short so I am not the best person to give an opinion, but the amenities we did use were fine. There were some nice restaurants. The big event there is Kiel week, when the harbour filled up with boats. Kiel week took place during our stay and we saw some magnificent three masted schooners sailing along the Kiel canal. At the Baltic end of the canal we saw a regatta, of small yachts sailing about in a very disciplined way. If visitors pick the dates of their visit carefully they can have a very interesting stay, but of course, when these events are taking place, prices rise quite a lot.
