Our room was perfect, plenty of space, and a balcony with seating area. The room was cleaned on each of the four days we stayed and the cleaning staff were very friendly when we bumped into them in the corridors. Breakfast was fantastic, with a full continental range on offer, some hot cooked items, and a hot drinks machine. As for location, it couldn't be any better situated unless it was on the lake itself, it's less than a minute walk to the ferry terminal, very close to lots of paths for any walkers, and 5 minutes walk from the bus station if you want to use your Berchtesgaden card to tour the local area. I would also highly recommend eating in the hotel restaurant in the evening at least once. The venison goulash had so much flavour, and is my favourite meal of our 2 week tour of Germany and Austria, and the boiled beef was great too!Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom

Having breakfast overlooking the lake with the Zugspitze in the background, just makes you feel rich, and I don't even mean merely money-rich. I got spoiled the first few days, always finding parking in the underground parking in the hotel and had to park one evening 400 meters further, but still on hotel owned parking spot. Munich is a lovely city. The architecture and atmosphere met my expectations. I did an all day tour of Linderhof Palace, Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau, it was like walking though a beautiful painting. I was visiting during Oktoberfest which you have to see to believe, it was amazing and the beer was wonderful. The classic and modern art museums are next to each other and have exceptional exhibits. The first thing I noticed upon arriving in Ingolstadt is the cleanliness of the area from the moment I stepped off the train. I had travelled from Cologne through Berlin, Dresden and Nurnberg, stopping a view nights in each place, and Ingolstadt was the best ‘first impression’ of a city I experienced. This continued throughout the 3 days I spent there. The train station is located in a leafy area next to a beautiful park and surrounded by 3 churches. The city has numerous walkways and cycle routes alongside the river and through beautiful gardens. The city is extremely peaceful and had beautiful architecture and many historic buildings and sights. You will find good coffee shops and some of the best traditional food dishes in Germany. Physically - GaPa is super easy to walk around. Mainly the walking is on flat, well maintained sidewalks. Also, If you like hiking up mountains there are plenty of trails to spend days exploring (weeks maybe?) We especially loved the mountain top restaurants. Spiritually - The Catholic Church's here (Like all over Europe) are beautiful and steeped in history. The crowds (tourists) were respectful and maintained a quiet demeanor as they walked around the church. But, for those serious about their Catholic Faith there is plenty of time in the church without crowds to spend in prayer, silence and contemplation with Jesus. Mentally - GaPa is a great place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The people are friendly. The mountains are picture perfect. This is a lovely hotel located about a 12 minute drive from the Munich airport. The rooms are clean, with comfortable beds. The restaurant next door is very convenient and serves delicious food. Rosenheim is an intermediate town between Munich and Salzburg. The town is pleasant but unremarkable. For rail travellers it is a good (and often cheaper) base to to explore these cities as well as the Chiemsee, Berchtesgaden and the Bavarian mountains. Berchtesgaden is an amazing place for a vacation. There is so much to do with free bus access to hikes and other interesting sites. The town itself offers many dining options, places to visit, and a very helpful tourist info center. Berchtesgaden is easily accessible by train and a stay in a guest house gets you free bus service throughout the whole fantastic region. We highly recommend it as a place to visit for at least several days. Clean, comfortable apartment with enough space for 5 people, even a dining table is included for 5 people, the fridge is quite big. You have to ask the wifi code by booking. com message or by sms and the stuff will send it to you. There is plenty free parking space available just next to the hotel or if you are lucky even at front of the hotel.
