The owners are amazing and welcoming, great to socialize when eating dinner here. The dinner was amazing too, it looked simple yet was complex and after eating, felt like a mother's healthy home cooked dinner. The accommodation was very good and has this homey feel to it.

Beautifully located hotel at the picturesque Danish coast. The hotel has gone through a modernisation and features a rather big spa (indoor and outdoor pools, three different saunas). The highlight for the restaurant was the breakfast although we enjoyed our dinner very much (they book a table just in case for every hotel guest). The rooms we had on the third floor had huge windows overlooking the beautiful coastline. The beds were super comfortable however a tad too soft if you are used with firmer mattresses.

Helsingor is an adorable town an hour north of Copenhagen. I don't know that I'd have ever thought to go there but my son decided to get married there. It was an ideal meeting place for both families as his wife is from Germany. There are lots of lovely shops and restaurants and the ferry to Sweden is super easy to catch. We enjoyed our short stay. :)

A city famous for its castle. Otherwise, classic countryside, from the point of view of gastronomy, nothing that would in any way stand out above the Danish standard. Bad taxi service, quite problematic for those who don't come by car.

We could only stay one night. Therefore, can't comment much about Snekkersten. The property is nice and my room faced out onto their lovely garden. Annette gave us a warm welcome and left a bag of homemade treats, including delicious "Grandma cookies" for us to take in the morning when we left.

It is small town with pretty harbour and expensive few shops/ restaurants. The best is a fish market/ shop at the harbour where you can buy a nice meal. If you visit outside season there is no atmosphere at all and it is too quiet. We went to Helsigor to Helsigor, bigger with more atmosphere. In season is pretty, family oriented beach. The beach is nice but we were warned not to swim as currently it has a bacteria affecting a number of people! There were no signs at the beach but two locals adviced us not to risk bathing!

Historic buildings extremely interesting, nice architectural design of the town, close location to many potential places worth sightseeing. A little bit too poor availability of restaurants, in particular on weekends. Very unfortunate system of payment for parking lots in town, complicated in operation and not always working. Personally I was very displeased with necessity to install mobile apps.

The restaurant offered original dishes created by the in-house chef. We had the special of the week which was chicken in a delicious cognac and mustard cream sauce. There were also many other options to choose from including the house burger and french fries which looked very good too!

Nice town but there really isn't that much to do in out of season (which is July and August) - sea is too cold to swim and had some bacteria in it. The town itself is nice but the harbor is really where most of the action is. There is nothing to do when the weather is rainy. We've spent 3 nights in Hornbaek and found ourselves driving to Helsingør every day to enjoy good coffee, museums, etc.

Helsingør is a lovely town with beautiful medieval buildings, lots of nice shops, cafes and restaurants. It's by the sea, so has it's own beach, a large castle, museums, bike hire, a cultural centre and it's very quick and easy to go to Copenhagen by train, or to Helsingborg by ferry, or to visit some of the nearbypretty coastal villages by bus or train.

Absolutely worth a visit for anyone who has not been before. The perfect addition to a Copenhagen trip as it is not far and you can drive back along Strandvejen, the coastal road all the way back to the city via some wonderful stops. Enjoy!
