Loved the decor it was very quirky. Very clean and the bedding smelt so lovely. Room was very spacious we had the room over looking the old town. The bathroom was large and the shower was super hot. Plenty of fabulous freebies like toothbrush and toothpaste, razor, comb. All added to the experience. Breakfast was really nice with plenty of choice. Staff were so friendly and accommodating.

Almeria is not too touristy I would say, and most people did not speak english, but we managed to get by. The city has enough to keep you occupied for a couple of days and the buses work well to travel down the coast, also very reasonably priced. food was average but drink was relatively cheaper compared to other cities in Spain we have visited. The promenade and beach walk is nice, perhaps a little far out of old town, but bars to stop at frequently allow you a rest in between.

Aguadulce is a nice district; the hotel is not far from a supermarket, not far from the beach and not far from a taxi stand to go to airport of Almeria. The road which leads from Almeria to Aguadulce is in very good conditions. The Tourist Office is very helpful. The park is clean, well kept and has very interesting tropical and hot weather plants and flowers. There is plenty to explore if one wishes to move around... bars and cafeterias have a good variety of offerings.

Where we stayed the beach was great.

Where we stayed the beach was great. The promenade is long and has a cycle path throughout. Plenty of bars and restaurants. Four in particular stood out: 1. Bodega Patio Salao, 2. Restaurant Alinea, 3. Spice Hut Indian and 4. La Lola Restobar. A Spar supermarket is ideal for shopping with an extensive butchers counter.

Vera Playa is a beautiful white sand Spanish beach with large nudist and non nudist areas. Everyone is very relaxed happy and respectful to each other. There are a number of great beach restaurants and bars in both areas on the beach. All age groups use the beach from small children to the elderly and all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Really lovely location Quiet

Really lovely location Quiet Good local bars/restaurants even in November Long beach to walk along Quaint squares with children's playgrounds and bars etc Easy to walk around, downhill to the beach, then flat rest of the way Parking limited, but we didn't have a problem Quite a lot of steps plus handrails, for better views Nearest bar, downhill, was excellent

El Ejido is a small working town.

El Ejido is a small working town. It is great to use as a base to travel to the coast by car, Almeria (40 minutes), shopping centres, the coast (20 to 30 minutes)etc. This part of the country is dominated by the factory farming under covered growing frames, so not as pretty as some areas further along the coast. This area does not have a high end boutiques, If you want these then you'll need to go to one of the larger cities.

Las Negras is a small and unspoiled village.

Las Negras is a small and unspoiled village. Everyone was welcoming and friendly and although it was predominantly Spanish speaking, communication was relatively easy. There is plenty to do around the immediate area of Las Negras with unspoilt beaches and water based activities but we also enjoyed trips to Almeria, Carboneras and Mojacar, all of which are worth seeing. We had a really lovely time.

I have already sent one review but I have just remembered another item. In spite of promises from the owner and two written requests from me, I never received the Code number for the key safe. I arrived at the property and had to phone the the landlord. Fortunately, he was in and, in Spanish, he gave me the number. Fortunately, I do speak a little Spanish and was able to understand him. Even so, it was a very anxious time which should have been avoided. Ken Brazier.
