The spread was incredible with the usual suspects: scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurts, bread station and coffee/tea. In addition they had various local fish including smoked fish (2 types), herring (3 types), fish roe (two types), local cheeses, and local fruits. It was phenomenal. They also have a left luggage facility which is secure.

MozambiqueNice hotel right next to main ferry port of Mariehamn, serving excellent breakfast in the morning, and the staff are very friendly and very nice. I forgot to mail my postcards, so they offered to do this for me free of charge and I am very happy that they did this, as I did not have to run to the post office at the last minute. The room is exactly as you see it in the photos, modern, warm, clean, and the location is very central so a couple of streets away from the main sights and things to be seen in Mariehamn. Definitely recommended property.

The rooms were quiet, clean and simple: nothing too much, but everything essential. Practicality in Åland manner as it's best. Breakfast was good. We fell asleep to the "spring concert" of sea gulls.

Another great holiday at Käringsund resort. Perfect for a family trip for a week with children aged between 11-15. Special thanks and respect to the beach shed crew serving customers with so many activities. Especially the water sports man was so kind, friendly and professional with the kids. Much appreciated for the service. Nice weekly program for activities with children.

Björnhofvda Gård is a really nice B&B with excellent facilities and very, very friendly staff. Breakfast was also nice with more than enough choice. Location cannot be beaten: very tranquil, rural environment. Would definitely not hesitate to return when the opportunity arises.

A beatiful old house with the most kind people. Our room was super clean and comfortable. Loved swimming in the sea nearby and enjoyed a nice wood-heated sauna afterwards. Also breakfast was excellent and served to the table.

Great room, comfy bed, pillow and linnen, spacious shower, friendly staff and very good breakfast including eggs, salmon and even caviar. The suggested cleaning fee and linnen fee is not for rooms, only for cabins.

Definitely worth visiting—a genuinely pleasant experience.
Definitely worth visiting—a genuinely pleasant experience. That said, one can’t help but feel that in Europe’s smallest metropolis, shops exist mostly to enjoy their time off. We spent five days there; for the first three, everything was completely closed—shops and restaurants.
And when the shops finally opened, it was almost as if they were doing us a favour—just a few brief hours, then back to their well-earned rest.
Understandably, during the peak summer holiday, the locals are fully entitled to enjoy themselves. Still, if they were out in the open rather than tucked away behind walls, visitors might at least have a chance to share in their joy—or at least catch a glimpse of it.

The island is perfect to move around with the bike. Landscape is very relaxing. Public transport has limited frecuency, so check out before planning the trip, specially if you have to take a boat. Taxis are available as well.

Hammarland itself is not a great place for visiting.
Hammarland itself is not a great place for visiting. If someone really loves nature and wanna stay out of network (type area), then Hammarland is a great option :). Few options are available to visit here.
Especially the beach area is really nice and the connection with Mariehamn is great with car. So, enjoy :)

Godby is full of opportunities for everyone, sports, hiking,...
Godby is full of opportunities for everyone, sports, hiking, cycling etc. Beautiful environment. Short distances in all directions to historic sites and impressive nature spots. In the east e.g. the fortress of Bomarsund with an excellent new information centre for visitors and the Kastelholm castle. In the west the legendary Eckero post and customs building.
Thera are large apple tree farms close by.
We enjoyed a fantastic performance of Puccini’s opera Tosca at the Stallhallen open air stage, organised by Aland Opera Festival.

It was a very cozy and modern city at the same time. The last time I was there, was 20 years ago, so many changes had taken place! I recommend the museums, they are worth a visit. Also, the city library is very nice.
