This hotel was in a fantastic location for exploring Nuuksio National Park. We had a great few days hiking there and found Haltia Lodge to be a perfect base. Everyone who worked there was incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable with a lovely little balcony. The breakfast was fresh and tasty and the evening meals were delicious. We hope to be able to come back to this hotel again next time we visit Finland.

The facility, which displays a charming old Finnish style and the location itself are staggering. The hotel staff and its personnel were overwhelmingly courteous and attentive to guests' needs, and made me feel at home. I travel a lot, but this was definitely the best experience I have ever had. The iglu was really nice, clean, warm and cozy. Great for relaxation as there's nothing else to do other than feeding the reindeers which was a great experience. The staff was friendly and polite. No issues at all.

I had booked an airport hotel as my trip was very short and I didn't want to spend too much time commuting but when this property popped up on Booking.com with a Genius discount I thought, this is a must-see! A major selling point was the free sauna, convenient location in the town where I had my business meetings and the great reviews about the breakfast. Upon arrival at Backby I was transported to a fairy like destination. The landscaping, the buildings, the air that was pure and fresh. Everything felt magical. I slept soundly in the firm single bed and enjoyed a superb breakfast buffet the next day! Even more special the sun was out in all it glory on my second day so I was able to enjoy breakfast on the terrace with a view of the lush Finnish forest. I sat outside for two hours in the sunshine enjoying a three- course breakfast of fresh berries with yoghurt, bread and pastries with sausages, and specially made hot chocolate! This place makes me want to return to Finland!
