Wonderful accommodation. Very clean, everything is new. Lovely location close to the city centre and easy to access shops and restaurants. The nearest beach is a short walk away. We were particularly happy with the place, its quiet, there is AC and a well catered kitchen. We wish we stayed more! Perfect parking and easy access to/from the garage to the apartment. Impressed from the arrival to departure. The hotel is beautifully located even taking into consideration that it adjoins a busy arterial route to and from Vannes, mentioned only to allay any fear of noise. It was quiet throughout the hotel with great care paid to soundproofing rooms giving such peace and quiet. Great attention paid to detail, no expense spared in quality of furnishings and design. Indeed an oasis of beauty, rarely surpassed. Matched one should add, to the appearance and dedication of the staff, all of whom were eager to address any requirement.

FAQs about hotels in Brittany

Like Travelling Back in Time

France’s most westerly region, Brittany boasts beautiful beaches, lush countryside and laidback towns with medieval castles and half-timbered buildings. The capital Rennes has the most oddly-angled of the latter alongside grand public buildings.

To the north, fishing village Cancale is famous for oysters, and the walled port town of St Malo has ferries to England, while Ireland is served by charming Roscoff. Between them lie many of Booking.com’s Brittany hotels by the beach, and the beautiful, pink granite cliffs near Perros-Guirec.

Inland, Morlaix’s cobbled streets and wood-clad houses are spectacularly dominated by a 19th-century viaduct. Dinan Castle overlooks the riverside town below, as does the incredible medieval castle in Fougères.

Facing the Crozon peninsular are Douarnenez with its pretty port, and the university town of Brest whose history is inextricably linked to the sea. Quimper to the south-west has a beautiful old town, and its river joins the sea at exclusive Benodet, home to one of southern Brittany’s sandy beaches. More are near Lorient, while Quiberon beach, on a rugged peninsular, is popular with locals.

Nearby Carnac has some of the prehistoric megaliths for which Brittany is known, while picturesque Auray is on a bend in a river opening into the Gulf of Morbihan whose undulating coastline continues to the colourful, walled city of Vannes.

The ramparts are a good start, to get your "lie of the land". The Cathedral has a gorgeous stain glass window and stylish alter furniture .You must try the Kouign-amann (sweet pastry), and the local savoury crepe, good place (pictured) near the Cathedral. The causeway to the island, which has the grave of the author Chateaubriand, which until I visited I was under the impression was a nice steak!.

Have visited Vannes for many years because it is such a historic and vibrant city. However it is now much more difficult to park anywhere near the centre and it is unpleasant driving because of the many lights, roundabouts and arrogant pedestrians who step into the road at the last moment. We have driven on more than once without staying because of the traffic chaos.

The public transport system is very good.

The public transport system is very good. Les Capucins and PAM are admirable examples of the transformation of industrial space into cultural and social centres. It's just a pity that there's so much 'tagging' to spoil the urban landscape.

Really liked Quimper. It's a beautiful city.

Really liked Quimper. It's a beautiful city. There is a rich heritage, many old houses, half-timbered houses, pedestrian and shopping streets. The cathedral is monumental, original with its two towers of the 19th and its choir off-center. I went to multiple spots/beaches close to Quimper: 1. Phare d'Eckmühl 2. Plage la Torche-Tronoën 3. Pont-l'Abbé 4. Quimper itself.

We went to the Interceltique Festival at Lorient.

We went to the Interceltique Festival at Lorient. The town was virtually rebuilt after World War 2 damage and is therefore not all that aesthetically pleasing in itself. However, a good base for hopping on a train to Quimper, Vannes or other 'pretty' destinations.

We loved Dinan, so many lovely shops and restaurants as well as all the historic sights. We managed to park for free behind the castle, from the market square you go past the castle and take the first turning under a stone arch on the right, there are parking spaces on the left side of the street and a free car park on the right. A good time to find spaces was between 6-7pm. The town itself was great and we really enjoyed just wondering around looking at the shops and stopping at various cafes. Our favourite restaurant was Neo where they did a 3 course set menu for around 30 euros, I would call it fine dining and well worth a try, we ate there twice. There was a great Moroccan restaurant too, in fact we didn't have a bad meal anywhere. We couldn't go into any historical places as our dog was not allowed and beware they are not allowed on the free busses either. We found out the hard way by walking down to the port hoping to get a bus back, its a steep clime. The duration of our break in Dinan was 1 week and there was plenty to do, we would really recommend it.

Great upmarket small town on the very edge of Rennes.

Great upmarket small town on the very edge of Rennes. Suggest visitors drive from junction 4 to 5 and use the park and ride next to the metro terminus. Free parking as long as you have used a one euro 70 cents ticket within an hour of exiting the parking lot. Parking in Rennes is expensive

Saint Brieuc is a lovely town in this part of Brittany.

Saint Brieuc is a lovely town in this part of Brittany. It's big enough to have a great selection of restaurants, bars and cafes. Hotels too. Yet, it's small enough you can get out of it into the lovely Breton countryside easily enough. Not overtly touristic, but there are plenty of nice places around to visit and cycle to. A walk down to Le Legue through the Parc de la Vallée de Gouédic was a lovely start to the day. Within a short drive you can get to Binic and Paimpol, or the other direction to the magnificent beaches at Val Andre.

The apartment and location are great

The apartment and location are great Pascal the host, it's very welcoming. He went to supermarket to stock up water and coffee just before the shops were closing down as it was the 31st December when we arrived The apartment it's small but very nice and can fit a full family of 4/5 people I was a bit unsure about the towels and linen, I think a completely new sets for next guest would be much better, however we have managed to use them. The apartment was clean but not at the very best, I am fussy about cleanless so probably it's me, but overall was a great stay I loved the balcony and the electric shutters The area was calm and residential, also we had a private garage with keys underground and a lift take you up the apartment I would recommend this apartment Thanks again to Pascal
