We booked the room spontaneously since we were since two weeks traveling through beautiful France and deciding from day to day where to go. The check-in was uncomplicated and fast. We were even provided with an upgrade with harbor view which was a very nice gesture. The parking slot was spacious enough even for a station wagon with bikes be kind. The parking space was secured with a gate. The room provided everything we needed and it was possible to get drinking water at the fountain in the lobby. Great and environmental friendly idea of providing the guests with glass bottles at the check in. After two weeks in France we got used to get the French breakfast in hotels which consists of tons of sweet things and pieces after which you’re getting a sugar shock for a half day. We were so surprised about the breakfast offer with so many different cheeses (and for the non vegetarians even sliced meet products), eggs one could boil in a pot and tons of fruits. We missed vegetables, but it’s a cultural thing here in France- the hotel provided the richest breakfast offer from all the hotels we have been in France to. Since it was warm and sunny we could enjoy it at the terrace with harbor view. Internet worked without any problems, since we don’t speak French the communication in English worked well. We wish the hosts all the best and we hope to return the next time when we will be in this part of France.

The hotel is easy to find with ample free parking available. The staff are friendly, their English is limited but so is our french so we can’t complain, and we managed to communicate just fine. The rooms are large and comfortable. The restaurant was closed when we visited due to a change in management, however the staff recommended to restaurants a short drive away. We didn’t want to drive so we walked to the snack bar across the road and had a fabulous, and very cheap, evening.

We were looking to get away for a couple of days and the name Perpignan came up. In 1967 my husband was in a band who were booked to play a residency at the beached ocean liner "Le Lydia", located opposite the apartment building in Le Barcarès. However, it turned out that the boat wasn't ready yet, so they spent 5 weeks hanging around and they slept on the boat, which after its Sixties heyday was turned into a tourist attraction. We decided to go on a bit of a sentimental journey and found this lovely apartment in Le Barcarès. We booked it for three nights but we would have liked to stay longer because we enjoyed it very much! The apartment is renovated with love and excellent taste and sits in a great location, just a couple of minutes' walk from the beach. Parking was secure and easy, and access to the apartment is via a code or an app you can download on your phone. The living room is bright and welcoming, with a well-equipped kitchen area (although a kettle would have been nice - we brought our own - and a couple of serving spoons would have been handy). There's a spacious terrace with a table that can easily seat at least six people. The James Bond-style multi socket column that rises from the kitchen island is very handy if you want to do a bit of work on your laptop after breakfast. The living area features a comfy sofa and a large Smart TV, great for evening entertainment! The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms clean (great to have a bath and a shower!). The views on the Mediterranean from the top floor terrace are wonderful. We were lucky that the sun was out on both days, so we spent most of the time on the sandy beach and in the sea. There's a fresh bakery almost next-door and we had dinner at "La Jungle", right on the beach, which serves delicious food and mocktails! The host was very friendly and communicative, we had a great time and we'll definitely want to come back!

The village and house were beautiful and cozy, with the latter especially full of character. There was a bakery directly outside the door, and a street market twice a week virtually on the doorstep. We loved the slow peace and laziness of the village and the locals were very friendly. There was an amazing, sandy beach a short walk away, and it was basically empty with crystal clear water.

Everything was perfect, even better than expected. A very warm welcome and a good breakfast that we could have had on our small terrace in front of our room but we decided to eat in their bar as it was very hot!

    Leucate beach is simply wonderful.

Leucate beach is simply wonderful. For walking along or sunbathing on - if its not too windy. As our apartments facilities were basic, we ate out each lunchtime and nightime. There is usually one restaurant open in Leucate Plage or the village but just be mindful that the close promptly in June. We found wonderful pizzas at Pizza Chez Jordan, in the Centre Commevial at Carrfour in Leucate Village. You can either do takeway or as we did eat in (well outside) with a glass of wine and a beer. Great value for money too!

Leucate has different areas, the village location where we stayed had the history, lovely bakery and a variety of restaurants. A visit to Port Leucate gave you a beach area, promenade walk and then restaurants and shops to visit. The beach was sandt, you would need to bring your own towels, sun shades etc as only one bar are with seating you coud pay for. Lots of familes on the beach when we visited and in the sea, but as it was so bigit didn't feel packed. The lighthouse is also worth a visit, but parking can be tricky. Great view looking back down the length of Leucate.
