- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 258 reviewsWe both had skiing accidents unfortunately near the end of our trip, and the help we got from (I think) the manager was very sweet. They really make you feel like they actually care. The whole vibe of the hotel is so cosy instead of a factory where you are a number. They had a great cosy pub with fireplace in the hotel downstairs, feels like a living room in the afternoons. They also have a sauna with foot massage devices you could reserve. All great after a good day of skiing. It is located right on the Main Street so super convenient for restaurants or quick shopping/groceries. Even with the accident, we can say we had a great time in Valmorel, which is a beautiful area, and we will look back at hotel du Bourg fondly!Guest review bysuzanneNetherlands
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 225 reviewsLovely clean village with a gorgeous view from our room balcony. We were in the area to see the Tour de France. Really lucky to find this hotel, at a really reasonable price too. Evening meal was great as was our breakfast, homemade strawberry jam was yummy. Perfect bedroom and private bathroom with shower, the bed was very comfortable. A friendly couple answered all of our queries during our stay. Great Monaco at the bar on our arrival after a really hot day watching the tour. Shame we just had one night. I wanted to book again for the following Saturday so we could watch the women's Tour de France but they were fully booked. Hope to stay again, maybe next year. Photo, Col de la Madeleine, the day after the tour passed.Guest review byJANINEItaly

We travelled from Italy avoiding the tour de France route so passing by Susa, Moncenisio (we know this area pretty well, our first stop is always the bakery for our butter pastries.), Modane and saint Jean du Maurienne and then up to Montvernier, fantastic road from there to the hotel at Montaimont. Two roads lead up to Montvernier and one is like Alps d'huez! It's a lovely area. Great free Opinel museum at saint Jean du Maurienne. Sain Francois Longchamp looks like a mega ski resort, fantastic. Looks well organised. Going over the col and down the other side was just as spectacular.Guest review byJANINEItaly - 10.0

Valmorel is a pretty resort with great places to eat and drink. Great selection of shops and the skiing for the end of March up high was great. For beginners this time of year I wouldn’t recommend as the snow was awful from 1650 down. Top of Biolene was nice & top of Madeline. Tip of the morel wasn’t great for some reason by lunchtime Friday it was slushy and thick at 2200m high. I would say during winter (only open 4 months ) the skiing would be superb .Guest review byRobertUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The hotel is in the village of Montaimont about 3km below the resort of Saint-Francoise-Longchamp. A perfect, scenic setting and excellent base if you have a car. We arrived when there was no snow whatsoever below 2000, which meant driving was very easy. There was a car park opposite the hotel, with electric charging points for electric bicycles. Many walks and cycle routes were marked.Guest review byPhilipUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Valmorel was a very lovely area to be in.
Valmorel was a very lovely area to be in. The village area was lovely to go out in at night and there was a good number of restaurants to choose from. Although you had to book to be able to get a table for when you wanted it. It was good that staying in the local hotel, you also got a discount from certain restaurants. The Mexican Restaurant was particularly good.Guest review byAnonymous
