The breakfast buffet was fabulous. Lots of choices everything very fresh. The bread and smoked salmon especially good! The location was lovely in a beautiful atrium. As the restaurant was closed on the night we were there we ate in the bar and the service was superb. The food was lovely small plates of charcuterie for example. The welcome from the staff and their fantastic customer service was amazing from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We had taken our dog with us and they even checked in that we had everything we needed for her stay and she'd been comfortable. The spa was very nice, particularly the sauna and jacuzzi.

Location has easy access from the highway. Parking available right outside my room and was free. Very clean and comfortable. Great restaurant next door. Best thing is the staff and their interaction with my dog. It was heartwarming to both be welcomed so well. He felt very loved. I would highly recommend this lovely motel.

Excellent hotel in every way!! The staff is courteous, professional, and happy to give. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. The spa is amazing!! The wate temperature is excellent and it is open until 2330 at night which is very resting after a day of hiking to relax One of the best hotels we stayed in and highly recommend. The only minus is that parking is expensive but after learning to use the parking meter in the lot opposite the hotel then it is quite possible to manage with a low fee for parking in the meter. The only thing and this is as a constructive comment that they didn't fill us the soap and didn't put tissue but this is minor but worth fixing . in each floor is a machin of free cold water and soda

Aix-les-Bains is a very pleasant town on the shores of the biggest lake in France: Lake Bouget. There are lots of restaurants and places to visit including a Casino, mountains and water sports. If you can, we recommend you try the boat cruse around the lake and include a meal on board.

If you call your hotel L’Incomparable you are setting...

If you call your hotel L’Incomparable you are setting yourself up for a fall. This is an expensive hotel with high aspirations. Unfortunately, some things are not quite right. Our room was a designer piece on the second floor with a mountain view. However, we were stunned to see no shower in the huge bathroom. Instead, we were provided with a free-standing central bath with a hand-held shower-head. There was nowhere to put soap or shampoo. A beautiful-looking bathroom that just does not work! Dinner is a ‘surprise’ menu of 5 or 7 courses but obviously no information was provided as to what might be served. This not only made choosing wine difficult but also threw up a problem when the one meat course was offered (there was a lot of fish) and no-one had asked about the desired cuissance. We found the meat too rare for our taste. On the positive side, the meal courses featured many locally-grown vegetables and herbs and the multi-lingual staff were charming in explaining the dishes on offer. The hotel is expensive (€20 for a gin and tonic) and in our opinion does not really provide full value for money. It is certainly not incomparable!

We enjoyed staying in a traditional farm house that had been renovated to include modern ammenities. If you don’t mind self catering and enjoying a bottle of wine overlooking a beautiful view and peace and quiet, this place ticks all the boxes. Our host was on site, friendly and willing to give lots of tips about the local area.

The Lac is a big draw for us on holiday but the lovely park, busy town centre and friendly people make it a home away from home. It’s almost like a two centre holiday. Transport routes are great with regular local buses and a great number of trains to go further afield - Lyon, Grenoble, Annecy, Paris and even Geneva to name a few.

Quiet town, shops like a baker / florist / butcher in the town, supermarket nearby. Some very good (not expensive) restaurants. Located between the mountains with lots of hiking and cycling routes, that are well indicated. Located at the lake, which is very nice for swimming, kayak, paddle board, etc.

One of the most beautiful locations in France.

One of the most beautiful locations in France. The most spectacular Alpine scenery you could wish to see is all around you. Fabulous places to eat and drink in town and around the lake. Wonderful strolls, hikes and sports to do on the water and in the surrounding mountains. Oh and did I mention the views? 💖
